Kev that's an amazing write up, I read every word...didn't watch all the vids though :) Dam those roads are straight...
-
A good write up, tho I havent read them all yet.
The roads are long and straight and pretty empty. Tho you did hit rush hour at one point, B double in front and three car and vans coming the other way.
:grin :grin

brilliant write up mate, love it

Very good. I went in the opposite direction in the early 80s. I would check that overflow hose from the radiator I think, but it will probably be ok in a tasmania summer :)

Fantastic Kev! :-++
That was a brilliant report. Lots of pictures and videos.

Great blog there Kev, thanks for sharing :thumbs

Nice little cruise Kev. I'll keep an eye out for my ST's twin too !

Just finished your saga Kev, Good write up.
Did you sort out the overheating?? Could it be low fluid due to a cracked overflow hose??
-
Hey Kev.............Just finished reading through your Blog, looking at all the video's and checking out your pics.
I needed a little time to devout to doing so to do it all justice.
I gotta say Kev "well done mate", you've obviously spent a lot of time and effort in putting it all together and you've done a great job :thumbsup. I'd find riding those straight roads somewhat boring :whistle but I guess the changing scenery makes up for it.
So, you dropped your bike in the mud hey :cuss
Look out if Diesel reads the Blog, and he probably will!! I thought I was the only one to do something silly like that, but at least I had a little grass on the top of my mud!!
It's good that you got home safely, and that the bike didn't let you down midway through your adventure :fp. and I can understand your enthusiasm in wanting to head off again.
We'll :phone soon!!
Cheers

Kev,
Cant remember if your camera is the drift HD170 or not. If it is, here is a tip for a better pic when shooting through the fairing. Set the camers tp night mode and the pics will be a lot brighter, with much stronger colour. I just bought the stealth recently and have been experimenting

The radiator cap seal can also crack and the symtoms are the same as the cracked overflow hose (coolant goes out, not all comes back, empty space in the radiator). I had to replace my cap a while back. Thermostat often sticks open so the bike runs too cool, but it can stick shut and lead to overheating. At a certain age far easier to just replace thermostat and cap and trim the overflow hose. They are a pain to get to, so while in there best to replace (non Honda bits that is!)
