Title: Tyres and balance beads
Post by: kappy5003 on June 18, 2014, 07:54:54 PM
Hi Guys'
Haven't been on of late, there has been some interesting stuff happening in my life in the 7 odd months.

My AnaSTasia was in pieces in Perth and I have now got her home to put her back together.

I am about to source some donuts for her, and wanted to use Pirelli Angel Gt but they dont do the correct rear size, so now thinking bridgestone  T30's.,approx$450.00 from Perth supplier.

Interesting I can get from USA for $279 shipped, I guess they are the same tyre as we get here, Yes getting Jake Wilson.

I wanted to use Balance beads, there are Dyna Beads and Counteract beads from what I have read it seems the counteract may be a tad better and maybe cheaper.

I have 90 degree high speed valves which has a tiny air hole can these beads be applied in this manner successfully?

Any input welcomed.

Cheers
Kappy

I use the Dyna beads in mine but I have the standard valves so I can't help you there. Even with the normal valves it can be a painful process as the beads block the air inlet if I go to fast.

As for tyre size......the 170/60ZR17 (1300 tyre ) will fit ok if you want to go with the Pirelli.

My BT-023 GT (1300 rear) spec tyres are due for replacement soon and I'm considering the T30 in GT spec (1300 rear) as an option. The Bridgestones are all made in Japan but if you buy from JW you might be on your own if you get a faulty tyre but my last three sets have all been good.
