Riding Solo - 6,000 Mile Motorcycle Adventure in the USA Backcountry
By Sterling Noren
(https://i.ibb.co/r2NWC7N/Riding-Solo.jpg)
Riding Solo is a video series about motorcycling alone in the USA backcountry.
The videos were filmed during a 6,000 mile/30-day solo ride in the summer of 2020 in locations including Arizona,
Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico. Each episode focuses on great motorcycling roads
(paved and dirt), camping, cooking and relaxing in scenic and remote locations.
The purpose of the series is to show viewers how easy it is to ride solo on a motorcycle adventure in the USA backcountry.

I was lucky enough to spend several weeks riding and camping in the USA Western regions from South to North including east to the border of AZ/NM in the south and Montana in the north. It is fantastic country to ride and see as long as you stay off the interstates.

I'm really enjoying watching this series, and it makes me want to hit the road again and go explore this beautiful country. Thanks for posting it Rusty.

Thanks for the feedback, Pete! :thumbs
I've been loving the quad copter footage, it's almost making me want to go out and buy one!!!
I do have one issue with the series though, each episode doesn't go long enough!!!

I like the short and punchy length of the episodes and the photogtaphy is great. While they are a little bit "samey" ie ride, and cook tea, the viewer gets into the rhythm of the adventure with him. Did you spot that he went from a Kermit Chair early in the trip, to a Helinox?
-
I didn't notice that, Pete!
Damn you, now I'll have to watch all the episodes again...lol. :fp
Re: the "samey", I gotta agree with you there...Cheers! :thumbs

The FINAL Episode... :'(
-
Having been without home internet for well over a year a I gave these a miss, but that changed last week so now I have some catching up to do.
-
I reckon his final episode was by far the best one, as it had more about the places along the way. As well I understand Sterling's reflective mood towards the end of his journey, as I felt the same in the last couple of days of my 19,000km 2019 OzLap. My daughter rang me on the last morning and reminded me to spend some time and reflect on my achievement, so I turned off my music and CB radio, and rode in the contemplative space inside my helmet, thinking of the places and people who had made my adventure so very special.
WendyL and I had spent time chatting with the quarantine officer at the NT/WA border, and he said that Wendy and I had simply become a statistic, but he had become a memory.

I've got to episode 10 now.
I agree with Stinky Pete on the shortness of the episodes. It allows me to watch an episode every day. I'd be less inclined to if the episodes were too long.
The photography is awesome. It's made me want to get a drone. The cooking part of it doesn't interest me at all. I guess I am just content with breakfast cereal and milk for dinner if nothing else is around.

Same here but realistically a decent drone is probably out of reach (price wise) for me... :'(
But then, I've been a good boy this year so perhaps Santa will reward me...I can only hope! :whistle
