Title: ST1300 - clearance items - fairing deflector kits
Post by: saaz on June 20, 2012, 01:00:21 PM
Hi all. One branch of a local shop is closing, so is clearing out a lot of old stock.  At the moment they don't have a good idea of how many items are for what bikes, but are working on it.

Anyway, there are 2 sets of the Honda fairing deflector kit P/N 08P73-MCS-800A.  Original asking price was $336, the bloke mentioned a figure of $100 a set but I am sure that can go lower, particularly if both go. And here is what they look like and another price  http://www.amazon.com/Honda-Accessories-2003-2010-Deflector-08P73-MCS-100A/dp/B000MKF260 (http://www.amazon.com/Honda-Accessories-2003-2010-Deflector-08P73-MCS-100A/dp/B000MKF260)

Let me know if you are interested - I have not compared this to davidsilver prices or other places, as not much use to me .  Compared to the ST1100 kit, the deflectors seem to be made of a pliable plastic material.

Saaz,
Tell them I'll give them $75 for a set and I'll pay the postage.

Cheers

I will get the best deal I can on the 2 sets, first of those to express an interest should get them.  I think $100 a set was only the starting point :)

Just for curiosty I priced them at David Silver Spares for 124.26 pound and $US192.60 plus postage on top.

Aussie Price would be around the US Price considering near parity of the dollar.

Sounds like I should just bargain a bit and buy the two sets.  Wizz is first up if the price is ok, second set to whoever wants it.  ST1300 stuff is useless to me, but maybe I should see if it fits on the ST11 somewhere   :think1

I will check when they get a better idea of what they have. At the moment boxes are just on tables with no indication of what bike they fit.  I will write down the part number and see if they can check.

Ok, Wizz and Mitch are the first takers.  You may even save on postage if I bring them on the Border run :)  I will go see what deal I can do tomorrow.

I'll put my hand up for the second set if they're Candy Apple Red and not black.  We could all miss out if they're blue or silver.  I'll go with the price you get plus postage, since I won't be at the Border Run.

Hi Saaz

I realise I have come in a bit late but If the shop happens across any more of the deflector kits I’ll put my hand up for one also :thumb
And regardless of if I get one or not thanks for letting us all know about a great deal :-++

Cheers

No problems. Other items may surface as they are still going through boxes.

Biggles, they come in any colour you like, you just have to pay to get them painted.  I got them for $80 a set, just checked to make sure all the parts are in there. They come with some screws and instructions. Double side tape is already on them for installation.  I will PM Wizz and Mitch about getting them away, if they still want them.

Mate, the next question is, of course, what else do they have that might be of interest, bar risers for example??? Look forward to seeing the list when you can get hold of it.

Once again, thanks for all your help, it's much appreciated!

Hi Saaz,
I'm in the market for some cheapish bar risers for my ST1100. Let me know if they have anything but only if you happen to be going there.
Thanks in advance

I will call in, but they have my contact details for ST things.

I think that this shows the advantages of a local ST forum..we can all look out for things of interest to others, or what is available here.  Nothing worse that seeing what is available overseas and not being able to access items due to shipping.

They all come in black........they're a matt plastic that match up very well with the bottom of the panniers. When fitted they look like they've come with the bike............you'd never imagine that they're an add on. I doubt very much that you would want to paint them as they look great in black and match the bike perfectly!          But.........to each, their own! :)  And the best part is, they work!!

I'll put my hand up for the second set if they're Candy Apple Red and not black.  We could all miss out if they're blue or silver.  I'll go with the price you get plus postage, since I won't be at the Border Run.

I just bought a full deflector set, fairing and mirrors, for the bargain price of $14,500!
The bargain included a free 2010 ST1300 with top box and some other accessories.  :thumbs

I was pretty well "condemned" into NOT getting a VFR1200 to replace my written off ST1300, by ordering an OZSTOC jacket.

Awe, I got all excited when I saw this come up, but theres no way I could justify another ST for a set of deflectors.....I only need a left hand side inspection cover deflector as I lost the cover in my crash this time last year, so I might have to bite the bullet and pay the $86+ required for the one part.

I can highly recommend them and the mirror deflectors too!

Andrew

My ST was taken away for scrap after getting hit by a gate off a truck, so that was all the justification I needed. I don't recommend that anyone try this at home, though, as the side effects of the crushed foot are not nice to endure.

I think I got pretty lucky with the bike sale, thanks.  :hatwave  :runyay   :thumbsup

Yeah, the bones in the foot seem OK and the ankle is working a bit, now.  ++
The toes are a problem, as all the joints feeling like they're on fire, if I (try to) push them down. :cuss
Swelling is still prevalent and I have no hope of getting any of my boots or shoes on, yet.  :'(
The nerves in some areas are "dead" and other areas are super sensitive, but this may settle down once the extra swelling goes away for good.
Can't wait to go for another ride! (it's now been 81 days since my last ride - but who's counting)

Good to hear that the healing is underway (even if it is slow) ++
I hope you can get out on the new beaST soonish  :runyay

Yep, it's a bit ironic that this "replacement" ST1300 has a fair bit in common with my old one.
The fairing and mirror deflector kits are one thing, but also, a MCCruise control, Garmin ZUMO 350 GPS, has been around Australia on a Charity Ride and still got less that 25,000kms on it.  :grin
