Title: Top box latch

This mechanism can become very stiff.  It responds well to the application of some lubricant.  I take the easy way out and spray some WD40 or similar into all the moving parts.  The smooth action lasts for months.

It it moves and it shouldn't  -  Gaffer Tape
If it doesn't move & it should  -  WD40

Anything else is far too technical for me.    :beer

Some silicone spray might be a good option
