Awesome work Gary, it looks brilliant

I do have one question though… :think1
Did you attach some connecters on the wires between the bike and the pocket like on the red and white wires in the following pic?

This way the wires can be disconnected when the faring needs to be removed

I ask because when I first did mine I didn't :fp
I added them later when I needed to remove the faring :whistle

Cheers

Short answer Sort of?   :eek

The power goes directly to the switch on a spade terminal (easily removed if necessary, not necessarily so easily replaced) and the earth goes to the switch as well BUT I've made the mistake of joining the earth wire from the bike and the earth wire on the pocket at spade terminal that goes to the the switch (which makes electrical sense, but not fairing removing sense  :fp), so it looks like next weekend, I'm doing a similar (and very sensible) mod. :grin  Good thing I've got my own crimping tool and very good advice from a friend :thumb

Thanks again for the heads up.

Cheers,
Gary

Glad I could help mate :thumb
It sounds like it is all electrically bang on the money :-++   If only the fairing never needed to be removed :whistle :grin

On advice from Shiney (thanks for the constructive criticism mate :clap) I made a small modification to the wiring.

If you look closely you will notice that I have set it up with a 'male' and 'female' connector on the supply side and a 'male' and 'female' on the load side so that it can't be connected up the wrong way round, and colour coded the connectors with heat-shrink for ease of identification and to match the black stripe running down the earth wire.

New terminations with colour coded heat shrink.

All smiles now.  :grin

Now to find the intermittent connection in the LH front indicator that occurred on the ride home last night.

Cheers,
Gary

Are you sure its just the front left, and not both left indicators??? If both are intermittent then it could be a grungy switch. (I get it all the time, must get in and relube it properly) otherwise, check the plug for the indicator wire, (where it goes into the fairing under the mirror cover)

Yeah, when I remove the front mirror and jiggle the wires it comes back.  might have to re-terminate the wires.

PS I have an Ass Dip Eng (Electronics).

I'm starting to feel a little threatened around here, just because I've got a BSc, a Masters in Systems Engineering and a Diploma in Project Management o:)

Well, if it's any saving grace I spent a couple of years back in my youth working in the National Physical Laboratory in UK (in the clean room complex) specialising in the calibration of Spectrum Analysers, Signal Generators and Oscilloscopes. Quite fascinating I must say, needs a special mind-set to be able to undertake this type of test/set-up/test regimes  :|||| >:()

:thumbsup :clap

That is the sort of work I do now including mW and µW Meters for airservices. Plus I write programmes to automate as much of it as possible for repeatability reasons of course (nothing to do with laziness). :grin

Did that sort of work for Australian Calibrating Services (A'sia) Pty Ltd from 2000 to 2005 including Tension and Compression force machines, Concrete testing machines, Metal Hardness as well as Balances and Masses. http://www.auscal.com.au

Shows we're a smart bunch of cookies those of us who choose an ST.  :grin

  *New Farkle*

Went to Jaycar on Friday and discovered a new Adapter for $16.95.

One 1000 mA USB, one 500 mA USB and two 12 V sockets plus a battery monitor and blue power 'on' indicators.  :grin

Exactly the same size and style as my old one from SuperCheap so it slid straight in.

Cheers,
Gary
