Clutch Noise or Normal for the 1300
« on: May 19, 2014, 12:13:52 PM »
Just a question on the 1300 Clutch I seem to have a low dull rattle sort of noise at idle once the bike is warm always been there since i have had the bike like a sort of dry clutch noise tho not that loud like a ducati

If the Clutch lever is just pulled in a small i mean 5-10mm not in gear it is gone no noise seems to be clutch noise to me

I have flushed the Clutch Fluid no air and no issues with gear changes

Is it a normal noise and does the 1300 have a louder Clutch at idle over the 1100

Is 1000rpm idle about right also for it

1000 RPM is spot on for idle.
There is always a different sound in neutral between clutch in and clutch out.  Obviously the engine is driving the first bank of gears with the clutch out, and so there's a bit more noise that's not necessarily the clutch.  Mine has the different sound, but not a serious rattle.  You might take it to a competent bike mechanic for an audition.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
