Hey Alan,
Me, my wife and in-laws all went to that pub last year when we came down for my niece's wedding and I must admit that I wasn't overly impressed with the steak I had, small, over cooked and still tough. No-one else in our party was too happy with their choices either. Came across as a very mercenary place, very plastic, almost as if it were designed as a tourist trap. That was early last year so I'd be interested to know whether it has changed for the better in any way.

I'm in for the RTE on November 10th. Whizz, I spoke to a number of patrons at the Pub, and also some of the town locals, before I booked it for the 2013 Rally and didn't hear any poor reports.

Sorry Alan, bugger again, unfortunately working both days at the Mallala race track marshalling for Phoenix Motor Cycle Club.
They are hosting the 3 hour race along with the Australian Side Car Round on the Sunday. I will be staying out at the track for the weekend.

This will give us a good opportunity to meet, greet,eat and hit the street for a preview ride.
I believe Pete has a couple of ride options and we can firm up some of the program items for the Rally

That's the week after the snowyride but I have many points banked at the moment. I am hoping to get away for a few decent rides, and that may be one..we shall see.

i am in, there is NO speedway on that date

are those that are in Adelaide going to ride down together or just meet up at Middleton

Meeting point is the Middleton Tavern at 11:00 am.

Peter (StinkyPete) lives southern suburbs so maybe the both of you could meet down there and ride together.

My plan was to gather at the Middleton Pub at 11.00 am, and then I'll lead a "test" of the March 2013 ride. A cooling drink at the proposed lunch pub would be in order as well. There's plenty of good bakeries on the intended route. At the end of the ride we can assess the suitability of the ride. Leethal, I've sent you a PM.

It's been a tough decision to make but Heather feels that at this time, even in the car it may be to much for her leg. So, we'll skip this one and aim for Naracoorte RTE in December.
