Title: Intro
Post by: ccmman on December 28, 2020, 05:59:07 AM
Hallo Ozstocers
I am  pom with a newly acquired 1992 ST1100. Looked for a while, I was interested in the older lower tech version. Its done 50k miles, but been well looked after. Interesting to ride the ST for the first time, having up to then only read the reviews. I had never owned a tourer before, and was blown away by the torque and the handling.
I like your site for the humour and the info. Spent a year in Oz after college, working on farms and stuff, and learnt that the only way to survive was to get as good as I got....a great life lesson! You can tell how old I am if I say I remember the JoFlo Show and port was six bucks a flagon!

Hi ccmman and welcome to OzSTOC from sunny South Australia.   :hatwave    Goonies of 4 Crown port!!!  Those were the days, and I remember sharing them when night fishing off south coast jetties in the middle of winter.  Fortunately I've now got a lot wiser and don't go night fishing off the south coast jetties in the middle to winter.  :grin

JoFlo was Jo Bjelke Peterson who was one of Queenslands premiers and his wife Flo.

Hi Richo and Pete.
My first job in Nov 1984 was on a station called Yankalilla  not far from Victor Harbour. A beautiful part of the world. I bought a Ford Falcon XT  when I got to Sydney for 700 bucks. It was fun drifting it round the corners on the dirt roads in SA!

Welcome from sunny Brisbane! Yes, you will find a good healthy mix of expertise and silliness here. You’ll also find a few other poms English Gentlemen on here. You can spot them easily because they don’t type upside down like the rest of us.

Enjoy the bike and the forum.

Hi Gary, and have a great 2021 down there in the lovely land of OZ! I am from near Leicester but live on a farm so have nor been badly affected by THE VIRUS. My daughter went to Sheffield UNI, so we had some great times in the hills and pubs in the Peak District.

I wish I had made it to Brisbane when I was over there, but got tied down in station jobs on the east side. Would love to come back and do a tour with the missus, cos she was over there too for a spell.

Its bloomin freezin here so very jealous of you lot sunning it on the beach!

Cheers Tom.
