Title: Gear change indicator question...
Post by: sean11 on June 16, 2019, 09:23:40 PM
My [new to me] 2008 St1300P has an after market gear change indictor gizmo on the dash.
It isn't `connected` - I'm guessing the previous owner bought it, and the realised it wouldn't? work with the P loom.

Ive added a couple of pictures - how it looks / and detail of its connector

So ..any ideas..

It looks like a GiPro gear position indicator. Does it have  along lead on it?
If you scroll down in this thread you will see how I fitted mine:-

THe hardest thing is finding where it plugs in under the pillion seat. If you can't find it I would be happy to show you.

PS you will need the instructions on how to program it as it works by comparing the road speed to revs to know what gear it is in.
I should still have them.

Thanks Glen and Hi..

The gizmo has a `the long lead` & that weird connector.

Any advice - most appreciated - it`s the [i understand] usual `rats nest of P wires`.
Ive removed all the plastics - a few plastic clips and bolts already missing :-[ - I need to source replacements for those too.

As for instructions re programming - and possible location of the allusive / appropriate socket ...yes please.

Thanks Again
Sean
