Project bike or parts. 95 deep red 1100 ST
« on: January 28, 2016, 08:51:42 AM »
Local bike shop has an 1100 for sale, as is, no rego, for $2000/negotiable

Not been advertised online.
All plastics, seat, are good, has tank cover, new rear shock, has topbox, no side panniers.
Requires swing arm removal to repair oil leak, undersize rear brake disc needs replacing.
More details and pix will be added as I obtain them.
New replacement parts could cost up to 1500 to make it roadworthy.

if you are going to part it out then I will definitely place a request for left and right mirrors and indicators if they fit a 1999 St1100.

Also the Left latch for the pannier

Also the little plastic covers that cover the access points near the legs

Also the seat if that is also compatible

Maybe some other parts too.

Let us know if you go down that path.

Depends what the owner wants to do with it, at the moment he wants to sell it intact.
No panniers, only topbox
Will keep you posted, Dave

The mirrors and indicator lenses are common on all 1100's so no drama.

I might have a spare latch or two - actually what's wrong with yours as I had one that I couldn't lock as the little part that covers key hole broke and dropped in the lock. I put up with it for a few years until I bought the LH case from Shaun. While swapping the locks over the little broken piece fell out and the lock now works.

Picture might help

it is the latch on the bike near the rear pegs that locks the pannier onto the frame.

When I went airborne over the embankment after meeting a 4w4 head on in MY lane one of the things that went wrong was the pannier got shoved pretty hard and bent the locking mechanism.

Will try and get a photo in the next day or two.

I was thinking of the black case locks not the chrome one that locks the case on. Check the pics for the damage to my case lock when a small roo had an argument with my bike. It tore of the wing cover and pushed the case off the bike. I bent the tab on the end of the chrome back to about where it should be (compared with RH side) and re formed the part on the case. That was back in June 2008 - replaced the case last year (or year before) when Shaun wrecked his.

If the lock cylinder is ok then it could swapped over.

Oh Man that would be AWESOME!!!!

I'll double check the lock cylinder and see if it is swappable.
