Well, it's official, I now feel justified to call myself a proper, fair dinkum member as I'm now the proud owner of a 2009 ST 1300, red in colour (I know, there's heaps of the buggers). I live at Harrington Park (near Camden in SW Sudney) and bought the bike from a shop in Melbourne. So I took the opportunity to go on a ROAD TRIP with good mate Tony (Sicman) from West Wyalong. We met bright and early at he Maccas at Yass. Then we began the journey south engaged in hours of friendly banter, shots and giggles. Got to Melbourne around 2.30pm, completed the paperwork and introduced myself to the new love in my life. I fired her up and she purred with anticipation. Then it was off back north to Wodonga. We stopped at Whallan, north of Melbourne, for fuel for the bike and the body. The deal was that Tony would lead whilst I got used to the new machine. Then Einstein lost sight of me whilst I was still kitting up and he took off outa sight whilst my back was turned. I attempted to catcH him for About 15 minutes then had to settle down due to the holiday traffic and double demerits. Anyway, long story short, I made a call and caught up and we made it into Wodonga at about 7pm or there abouts. Beers and pizza and a good nights sleep at a mates place then off again in the rain in the morning. Tony rode from Wodonga to Holbrook because he is a mosey bugger. It rained and was cold and I was smiling as I drove his car, with heater on. We changed over and had a coffee and parted ways at Tarcutta. Thoroughly enjoyed my trip home and developed a strong bond with my ride.
So now I have a sense of satisfaction and am looking forward to meeting many of your around the traps in the coming months and years. YAY ME..
