Check out this,
How NOT to get your bike back after it has been fitted with a new front tire. It was driven like this for around 80km's before I noticed while cleaning it.

I forgot to tighten up the similar bolt on the back of my 1100 in December. Couldn't recall if I did tighten the pinch bolt or not, so after 40kms stopped and checked to make sure and I had to tighten the bolt. I made sure I didn't forget to tighten the front pinch bolts up when I did the front tyre a few days ago.

I t just goes to show,
you have to double check and cant rely on someone else, who is probably there only for a pay check at the end of the week.
Good labor is hard to find.
And on top of that they will tell you yes we did tighten the bolts, it would be unsafe to not do so.
I work with monkeys like that and they call themselves tradesmen too!

I hate that sort of shit :well
I've had many an argument with repairers of all persuasions over the years.
But unfortunately in today's society money is king and morals get in the way of business. :-(((
Glad the rider found them before something potentially fatal happened :)
Now where did I put my torque wrench???

I've seen that exact thing before on a mate's Fireblade back in the UK. Same thing, the tyre place didn't put it back together properly.
It's crap like that which makes me have a go at my own maintenance.
I hope you give them hell over it! :cuss

I'm another who does my own rims remove and replace And then I know on the rear the spline is greased also with moly grease :thumbs

I had the same thing happen with a Brisbane m/c tyre specialist on my ST1100 rear.
I'd only had it a few months, and as I rode away from the place I heard a little "clunk" but thought nothing of it.
Rode it for weeks, including some quite inspiring speeds. Put it in to a Honda shop for a service and they told me the rear axle nut was only finger tight. I faxed a letter to the offenders and they rang inviting me to go there again and they'd "look after me". "Nah," I said, "You only get one chance at looking after me." It sounded to me like an offer the Mafia would make. "Here's and offer ya cain't refuse!"

Bloody hell >:( I'd be pissed with that. That's another reason I do my own work where ever possible.
Then if something isn't right, I can kick my own :butt
