Here ya go....
Biggest change for NatRally 2017 is the time of year.....we have listened to members who had difficulties attending any event in March as the previous National Rallies have all occurred in March.
Last National Rally in NSW was in 2012, after WA we needed to bring 2017 back into the eastern side of the country where the majority of the OzTOC membership reside to give those who may not have made the journey across the paddock the opportunity.
2017 NSW Region will be released at NatRally 2016 in WA ;-*
Chat away about your NSW thoughts.....we are listening :popcorn

September is nice. Towards end for warmer weather. :grin

Problem with end of September would be clashing with school holidays.

If NT follows the same as SA which they do for 2015 and 2016 then in 2017 school holidays start 30th Sept

NSW school holiday are from 25 Sept to 6th October in 2017..... :beer

I was more thinking NSW school holidays and accommodation being at a premium. NSW start a week earlier than the NT, since our kids only get one week in Sept/Oct and the rest of Australia get 2.
-
Hang on we're locked to NSW 20-22 October as the title suggests, why are we talking about date changes?
-
Going to be good to go back to NSW for the Nat Rally, October is perfect riding weather although the annual rally fog on the Saturday morning is nice lol

:dred11
:think1 South WeST NSW would be good area and easy ride for most other STates ;-*

We have been ticking of some of the list of places from "i've been everywhere" on the way to and from the National Rally and taking a photo of town signs. Some are ordinary and some are impressive.
These are some we visited on this trip. Gunnedah, gulgong, Narrabri, Bogabri, Moree, Bogabilla, Deniliquin, Molong, Goondiwindi, Murwillumbah, Mullumbimby, Taree.
Hopefully visit all the towns in the song in a couple of years.

Yeah, and fantastic twisty rides in every direction out of town.

There are numerous references to IBEM in threads on FarRiders. It's been done, but there are a couple of tricky ones.
Oodnadatta, Tullamore, Seymour, Lismore, Mooloolaba,
Nambour, Maroochydore, Kilmore, Murwillumbah,
Birdsville, Emmaville, Wallaville, Cunnamulla,
Condamine, Strathpine, Proserpine, Ulladulla,
Darwin, Gin Gin, Deniliquin, Muckadilla,
Wallumbilla, Boggabilla, Kumbarilla,
Moree, Taree, Jerilderie, Bambaroo,
Toowoomba, Gunnedah, Caringbah, Woolloomooloo,
Dalveen, Tamborine, Engadine, Jindabyne,
Lithgow, Casino, Brigalow and Narromine,
Megalong, Wyong, Tuggerawong, Wangarella,
Morella, Augathella, Brindabella,
Wollongong, Geelong, Kurrajong, Mullumbimby,
Mittagong, Molong, Grong Grong, Goondiwindi,
Yarra Yarra , Bouindarra, Wallangarra, Turramurra,
Boggabri, Gundagai, Narrabri, Tibooburra,
Gulgong, Adelong, Billabong, Cabramatta,
Parramatta, Wangaratta, Coolangatta
Ettalong, Dandenong, Woodenbong, Ballarat,
Canberra, Milperra, Unanderra, Captains Flat,
Cloncurry, River Murray, Kurri Kurri, Girraween,
Terrigal, Fingal, Stockinbingal, Collaroy and Narrabeen,
Bendigo, Dorrigo, Bangalow, Indooroopilly,
Kirribilli, Yeerongpilly, Wollondilly
Someone with too much time on their hands calculated a route to cover them all- came in around 32,000 km IIRC.
I reckon I've got more than half, but will have to start again to document them with dated photos.
-
It's an awesome idea...
It would be quite a feet to get all the photos :-++ :-++ :-++
-
Mid North NSW Coast would be a good option. Gloucester is very motorbike friendly and has some great rides around. Also closeish to Newcastle airport. Forster/ Tuncurry would also be good along with Taree, (good airport) Old Bar, Harrington, Port Macquarie and more.

Harrington is a favourite little weekend haunt of ours......great Irish pub with guiness on tap :like
-
That October weekend will probably be the Motogp weekend.

They will most likley change it when they see that the premier bike specific Sports Touring bike club in Oz has their National Rally on :Stirpot :Stirpot

I have never managed to organise myself for Phillip Island races, F1 and most other things. So looks like things are unchanged :OldMan
I would not mind doing Hidden Valley V8s sometime as a good excuse, might see if an Ozstoc Hidden Valley overnight run is possible :think1 I know Diesel has mentioned it before, but maybe time to get serious for once :rofl

Hidden Valley is the weekend after FarRide North this year if you wanted to do both. A three day pass is only $110 with free buses to and fro. I have spare beds and only live about 10km from the track.
-
This sounds like approaching a plan, but not this year. Just looked at dates and I am in Coolangatta for a week just that time, a Qld RTE on that week, with Gulargambone just after. North #2 was on my list to do, but just does not work out...perhaps...I could get in late to Coolangatta... :think1...have to look at distances etc etc
I think I need to revise my ride planning somewhat!

The Bowling club does a great feed at a very cheap price ....
Stayed overnight in Harrington with my Uncle on the trip home from Toowoomba.

The Towns I know of in country NSW with airports which we have technicians at are: Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Dubbo. Any of these would be great annual rally destinations.
I believe Bathurst also has an airport and I reckon McPhillamy Park and Conrod strait would make great photo opportunities.
-
Don't forget Canberra, it's in country NSW.
-
And Canberra has a major airport for those non-pillions . .
And a goodly number of attractions and good riding roads . .
-
More than a few tanks of fuel have been expelled looking at locations for 2017 I must say :p :p
:nahnah
-
I bet every litre was enjoyed . . Immensely . .
-
Somewhere in the Snowy mountain range would be awesome.
There is an awesome little place called Talbingo that is about 30 - 40 minutes drive from Tumut.

As National Rally Coordinator, I'm seeking expressions of interest from any member who may be willing to assist with the organizing of NatRally 2017, to be held on the 20th to 22nd October in northern NSW. A location has been nominated (no speculation please), so PM me if you would like to be a part of the organizing team. I have a package of resources to help any involved in organizing.
-
The National Rally venue for 2017 has been confirmed today, it's all ours :thumbsup
And just to wet your appities on the location with a little hint.....
It's in the area between Tipooburra and Dareton and not all that far from Eden and Tweed Heads WOW:
We have checked it out a few times and we believe we are on a winner.....but things may be just a little different on this National Rally :p
-
Excellent. That narrows it down!

I've had a small number indicate that they are happy to be part of the organizing team, and I'm just giving this post a BUMP. Much of the hard work has already been done with Location, Caravan Park and dinner Venue already sorted out. We just need some people on the ground to sort out the details. :beer PM me if you want to chat about what is required, and I'll send you my contact details.

We now have our organizing team for NatRally 2017. Thanks so much to those who have volunteered. :thumb

Each year we have a number of members from that state or area participate in the Organizing of the National Rallies with many hands making light work.
I would like to introduce the 2017 National Rally team for the event at Wooli.
StinkyPete (National Rally Co-Ordinator)
PC & Navgirl20
Dick B "Yewie" & Ros
BobSTer & Maz

Sicman
We are all meeting next month onsight at Wooli to work our game plan and view the venue. We will be meet with the local stakeholders to discuss our requirements and the services they will be providing.

The 2017 team has spent the last 2 days with a number of the local stake holders taking care of Accommodation options with some gob smacking deals.....meals and events are sorted.
These guys were relentless down here all for you attendees....they sampled a number of meal options from the Dinner venue, the Chinese, the pizza and all manner of alcohol......not for themselves mind you no no they did this for you all :rofl

do we have any approximation on registration fees etc for the rally?
I know its a long way out so any figure will not be held as firm but just a guide.

We are just awaiting some final costings on the "New Style" :eek :eek of National Rally event Shirt and the Patches & Pins to be provided before we open 2017 NatRally registrations.
Rally pack cost will be comparible to recent previous years.
