Welcome to the world of everything Pillions
« on: April 27, 2013, 09:20:45 PM »
Well here we have it pillions, a home of our very own  :runyay a place where we can contribute, research and enjoy the passion of motorcycling with our chosen rider.

Within these child boards we will discuss all manner of ideas to make our travels for both rider and pillion a rewarding experience.

So OzSToc members encourage your pillion/partner to join OzSToc register onto the forum and share their experiences, goals and ideas with their fellow pillions.

Enjoy the ride guys  :thumbs

Isn't it bad enough listening to you girls telling us how to ride without having to read the Instructions too?

I have been know to slide back to the backseat to stretch a bit on a long run, no bar raisers required, I can lean over....

Well.......................................................... I'm here!

First long ride with graham AKA STREAK, day one nearly resulted in me ripping my helmet off and beating him with it. First Duo Ride with graham AKA STREAK and DIESEL well that too nearly resulted in me ripping my helmet off and beating both of them with it!! Why is it i see a slight trend occurring here ???

All i can say is i love the guys and now love the girls :-S no wait that didnt sound any where near as wrong as it did in my head!

Look forward to some interesting reads and chatting to you all ladies.

I used to be able to do that until I replaced my seat but I can still rest my feet on the pillion foot rests to change position for a few minutes.

Having lunch yesterday with Jean and Chris, and new members Bill and Tina it was mentioned by Tina that she could not use the bike mirrors to see traffic behind the bike, and although we made some silly suggestions I thought about it later and have not been able to come up with a practical solution. Anybody got any ideas, as Wendy would like to be able to watch traffic behind as well.

Steve, Chris tells me Tony has some scan mirrors that mount high on his screen for looking around his camper trailer, although they may not be mounted wide enough apart to see around the rider, they may be an option.

I personally just as happy not seeing the semi-trailer hovering behind me, may not wish to pillion again  :p

I thought about something like that mounted high, but was concerned they would block riders vision at an important moment. Will keep thinking.  :think1

I use one on the right to see over the top of camper trailer and it also allows me to see whats in my blind spot. The one on the left is purely for blind spot and is mounted lower. They give a lot of extra vision,  :clap although I still do the mandatory head checks  :thumbs. I have never had them block my forward vision no matter the lean of the bike.

These ones mount on the inside of the screen out of the wind. They got better reviews than the ones that mount off the screen to the side of the screen. They seem to blow loose.
I haven't viewed the mirrors from the rear seat as there isnt a pillion around at the moment so I am not sure if they will help your situation.
Note - Their cockpit mount bolted perfectly onto the handlebar of the St1300 for mounting my video camera. Great products :thumbsup

Cheers
