Going to welcome NTRebel (Paul) to OzSTOC with an NT overnighter to Renner Springs, first weekend in October. Should be warm enough, and not to humid by then.....
If anyone else is interested, let me know and I'll look into accommodation options etc.
-
I'm interested.
-
I'm in
-
Arvo All...
Love to, but will still be up on the GC :'(
-
if that weekend was not my wedding anniversary.... :think1
wonder if Teela would like to take a trip? or i could tell her it is deisels idea, and that i have to make sure he is ok for the long trip and get him back safe?
-
I just had a look at the calendar and it is a possibility I can make it. Plenty of time before, but have to be back before the Wednesday evening. And I can do a loop so no repeating roads. Distinct possibility so I will work on attending.
-
Hey Wendy, I'll have my camper trailer so an unpowered site will do me .
-
Sorry for the slow reply guys, life got pretty busy again this week.
Accommodation will be at Renner Springs Desert Hotel (and Caravan Park).
Camping starts from $10 per person for an unpowered site, $15 per person for a powered site. Hotel rooms start from $95 per night for one person.
Extra details and bookings at: http://www.rennerspringshotel.com.au/ (http://www.rennerspringshotel.com.au/)

I'd love to tag along with Saaz and Lionel but I am being dragged along on a rivercruise from Amsterdam to Budapest and we fly out that weekend . . . Bugga! o:)
-
doesn't look like I'm going to be fit for the 4-5 October - any objection to changing it to the 18th-19th????
My bloody back has flared up again :cuss :cuss :cuss, getting cortisone shots in a couple of weeks and don't want to risk a last minute cancellation
-
No, change it if you need to, your health is more important. I will be doing the Ozstoc 1600 on those dates (and an RTE the weekend before) so won't be able to make it (unless the route can be changed a lot!!).
-
I'm also down for the SS1600 on the 18th Oct.
Let me know what you decide so I can amend or cancel accommodation.
-
had already booked 4th-5th but will see if I can change it and see if my boss is able to cover my work for 18th-19th
-
We'll lave it as the 4th-5th. I'll tough it out and just take more painkillers if I need to.
-
I know what your going through wendy I came off my 900 and managed to give my left knee a hard time still doesn't look like coming good for a fair while and a guy I wass talking to yesterday reckoned his took about 3months to be right so yeah maybe I'll need a sixteen pound sledge hammer to fix it.
-
Accommodation booked for me and my daughter. She's insisting on coming with me :KissBlow

New tyres fitted, nearly packed, a plan of sorts to get there, none to get back. Leaving tomorrow at 8am or so (have to sort some bluetooth comms before leaving) Once we turn right at Port Augusta it is new roads for me so here we go :runyay

Here's a couple of travellers inbound to this RTE......pic taken at Marla.
Both their ST1100P's left at home alone while their new toys catchup in mileage..... :nahnah

I had the same photo texted to me today, unfortunately I'm not able to print the response here, about the same one I sent to diesel and Growly for their photos they sent me today as well...

I'm having a leisurely breakfast before heading out, it's only 800km from here, about 6.5 hours riding time at 130km/h, so should easily be there by 4pm
Not sure how the back is going to hold up. Had extra physio yesterday, and he's taped it for me. I've got a couple of stick on heat patches if needed, and lots of anti inflammatories. Booked in for physio again on Monday, then cortisone injections on Tuesday.....
Sooooo looking forward to a long ride though, the pain will be worth it! :runyay :runyay :runyay :runyay :runyay :runyay :runyay :runyay

Woo Hoo. You go girl. Girl power !!!! :runyay :runyay

Had a great ride up from Alice Springs just taking it easy as I wass getting used to the beaST with trailer behind and didn't know how the 2 would play together. The heat made things interesting with a few rest stops along the way but all up everything went to plan made it to Renner Springs by 4-45pm just ahead of Wendy and yes the territory had 100% attendance also good to see Eastern states represented by Saaz and Lionel thanks guys for making the trip over and making thr event a success it was great to meet you all.
Next event will have to be National Rally in Alice Springs (hint, hint) central to everyone.
-
Looking fwd to seeing a few more pics posted :p...In the mean time have to congrat Saaz for finding and sending me a pic of where I once lived just south of Renner Springs...brought back a few memories. Will have to touch up some of the old slides when I get home that show what the place looked like when the homestead etc were there.
Would have liked to have gotten up to Renner Springs...think the last time I spent a night there was in 1960 for the local rodeo, held across the road from the pub if memory serves me correctly...maybe next year? :whistle
Envious of ya higher speed limits...the can :-)

I have photos of all sorts of stuff from silverton on-have to organise them when I get home (in Nyngan tonight - only 30c!
Lots of great things to see in nt. A more leisurely trip all the way up is on the cards😜
-
I have more pics to post, as soon as I'm able to sit at the computer for any length of time
