Marcus, I need to disclose that this is my new venture  :runyay

I posted it up to the group in March what i was up to: http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=10676.0 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=10676.0)

Its lots of fun actually, i am road testing all the products before i put them into the shop, so i can really say "I have used them myself" so it is getting me more time on the bike playing with different gear.

it is entertaining explaining to different suppliers about lights and camping gear that bigger is not better, and I want gear that is decent quality not just a cheap price.

What I am trying to do is stock select lines of gear that is no brainer stuff in the LED lighting, Motorcycle camping gear, Waterproofing, Bags, Waterproof bags, Socks those sorts of things.

I am happy to take suggestions and ideas from everyone to  :thumb

Cheers

Streak

trying to find decent versions of these that have a whole saler in Australia is tricky, i am trying to purchase everything i sell through Australian suppliers, its easier for warrenty, and the gear is vetted as well.

It is on my list for sure!

I am also looking at a small portable solar charger that looks pretty awesome

Oh i am excited! my trial LED driving lights have turned up! Looking forward to giving these a proper test run, these are a really good quality light, i have been learning so much about lighting since i have put my foot in the water to stock and sell them.

Both Flood and Spot are a 20W LED light

They have told me the lights will have the below specs, which i going to confirm over the weekend when i get them on the bike

Spot beam (1280 Lumens) is going to be 214m at 1 Lux approx cost will be $99 per light (TBC)

Flood Beam (900 Lumens) is going to be 119m at 1 Lux approx cost will be $69 per light (TBC)

Light is 75mm wide, 65mm high (79mm from bracket to top, 80mm long

The lights are stamped with a IP68 waterproofing rating, which is another bonus.

Just went down to the show grounds, did a quick measure it is about 230 metres to the gate where i took the shot, pretty happy with the light, seeing i have not set them up correctly yet, just a quick line up and took the shot as the wind was howling and bloody cold with no winter gear on!

So the three photos below is low beam, high beam, and with LED's on

this shot is from my 10W setup, the photo is taken at a 120m, so the above is almost double that

Thanks mate, i have had a good score, i have a set on their way to the editor of Cruiser and Trike magazine he is going to review them for me, so i am pretty stoked about that!

Our accessories range is starting to take shape now http://www.austmotogear.com.au/shop, (http://www.austmotogear.com.au/shop) i am just hunting about for some riding gear (like gloves & boots) that is something a bit different, if i stock what everyone is stocking i wont be different at all.

All of the accessories is to compliment the embroidered and screen-printed shirts we do for groups, with all the patches, stickers, and the rest!

the best bit of all is that i get to do more with bikes, the shows, the people, it all works for me

Your hyperlink to the shop has a "," in it, so it goes to a 404 error. I've taken it out in the quoted text.

I suggest that you also put the lumens on the LEDs pages/links. The power consumption is handy, but doesn't translate the same as the old incandescent lamps used to. Twice the power in LED doesn't necessarily equal twice the lumens.

Even better, also add the current drawn at 12.4 Volts. This is especially useful for bikes where current capacity is limited.

Morning Streak,
Looking for some lights to supplement the awesome output of the standard 1300 illuminators but am really looking for something that
 a) looks like it is meant to be there rather than something that has been adapted from something from Mad Max and
 b) does not require major surgery to the plastics

the square lights probably are the most practical but just dont seem to blend with the rest of the bike (but look great on the Suzuki  :thumbsup

any suggestions?

cheers

 a) looks like it is meant to be there rather than something that has been adapted from something from Mad Max:

the best recommendation if your going for looks is not to put any lights there at all, i have never seen an ST with driving lights that looked light it was part of the bike so to speak, i would look to do a full LED headlight replacement (which i am doing to the strom in the next couple of weeks) talk to Nate at Hog Lights https://hoglights.com.au/ (https://hoglights.com.au/) (he is an old OzSTOC member) tell him i sent you

I am not a fan of LED headlight bulbs that you buy off ebay, the ST reflectors are not built for them, and the light sprays to much on low and high beam.

b) does not require major surgery to the plastics:

you can go two ways with your light brackets, you can get the police light brackets that go over the top: http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=6700.0 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=6700.0)

or you can get brackets that you just cut a small section out from your mirror covers, dick seng used to make them, not sure if there is a replacement at the moment (the under brackets with the square lights would look the tidiest)

I have owned multiple types of driving lights for my ST1100, ST1300, and now 650 V-Strom, its "MY" opinion (not always everyone else's) that for driving at night to be safer on the road i am happy to sacrifice some looks for safety, my advice is that if my lights don't suit, and you find the style of look you like, really investigate the stats, build and performance, happy to help you with any of it mate  :thumb

Cheers

It could have been the camera auto adjusting is white balance. Most modern cameras do this by default.

If you are after a new headlight to complement the spotlights I would suggest one of these awesome lights :thumbsup
They don't require any extra wiring and are a simple replacement for standard bulbs (I brought myself a set to replace the lights I've been using :thumb)

Cheers Allan

The round " gold Runway" LEDs are very very good lights and Im after a second set for the s10 and maybe an additional buy for a mates bike.
Guys if you have not had a chance to get a pair in your hands for a closer examination then make the time to do so. These are everything that Clearwater Ericas have for half the price.
And solid bracketry to back them up.
19,710 km in 5 rides over 5 states over all types of roads, rain wind, fog, roos and wombats. Love these lights :thumbsup
