2024 - National Rally - What's Planned
« on: December 22, 2023, 08:54:42 PM »
What's in the Rally Pack and what do you get for $70 per head?

In addition to the usual standard Rally Pack items (as indicated by Chris) ....

....$70 per head for Rally Shirt, Patch, and Pin and meet and greet food and a light meal....

.... there will be:
  • A drink card for the Mansfield Hotel (where we have booked out Saturday evening dinner).  This will be along the lines of "present this card for a free schooner of beer, glass of wine or soft drink when ordering your meal."
  • A tea or coffee card for the Coffee Merchant Mansfield.  This will be along similar lines, ie. "present this card for a free cup of tea or coffee when ordering your meal."
These represents a value of approx. $15 for those want to take advantage of these offers.  Rather than a $70 registration fee, some can look at it as $55.

The Friday meet and greet - we have a small group of dedicated and keen helpers already planning some light nibbles (biscuits, chips, dips, cheeses, etc...) on arrival.  Perhaps not as flash as Mudgee, but this will be followed up with a sausage sizzle and salads - an evening meal for many.

The Saturday evening dinner will be a pub meal - people will be ordering and paying individually (as we did at Mannum).  The full pub al a carte menu will be available to choose from, as well as the pub's senior's menu- a few members will probably fancy that option.

We are offering a good value and a fun-filled three days (or more for some), so get organised, get registered and get to Mansfield.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Lunch at Mansfield NatRally 2024 dinner venue yesterday.  Couldn’t decide between Chicken Parma $29 or Seniors Chicken Parma $21.  Went for Seniors, more than I should eat, but managed.  Mate with me couldn’t.

Bit beered-out after a long weekend and NYE, had a very nice and refreshing local ginger beer that I could easily get accustomed to though.

Looking for member feedback on whether, or not, an RTE is wanted for Saturday 16 March, as if it is (wanted) a booking will be needed.

Options are limited, eg. Mount Buller, Jamieson, Whitfield, unless it's a 200km plus return trip.

Indicate your choice in the poll.

Hi Michael,
Neil & Valerie will be arriving in Mansfield around 9.30 - 10.00 am on the Thursday as we will be coming on from overnighting in Yea with my cousin on Wednesday night. We probably won't have access to our cabin till later in the day which is not a problem but will be able to assist with setting up where required.

Here's an idea.
                    The "Saturday Rideout"
With nothing official being planned regarding an 11-00 am Saturday ride out can I say that Val & I and possibly Denis & Diane are intending to visit the new cellar door at Delatite Winery, 39 Pollards Road on the outskirts of Mansfield for a lazy lunch in their outdoor courtyard area - it seats up to 45 people (weather permitting). Various food platters are available and seeing as we are all in for a dining experience later in the day I figure a platter will suffice along with maybe one glass of their delightful vintage. Intending to be back to the HCHP to check in and get a quick nanna nap before attending the official photo session at 4-00pm and afterwards the official dinner in the evening.

Herewith the link to the Delatite Winery website to view their facilities and check out the menu : info@delatitewinery.com.au

If anybody is interested in joining us and if the numbers warrant, I suggest the hire of a mini bus to do the drop off and pickup so that those who choose to enjoy more than 1 glass wouldn't have to take any risks whilst on two wheels.

In the meantime I will contact the winery to check on availability etc.

An indication regarding interest in the above would be appreciated promptly as Valerie and I are heading off to NZ on 25th Jan for 3 weeks on our Kiwi ST - its been 12 months so a bit overdue.
Send a PM or post any comments here.

Cheers
Neil

Hi Neil,

Any assistance Val and you can provide on the Thursday and/or Friday will be appreciated.

Re. a Saturday Rideout good idea, however unlikely Helen and I will be able to accompany your little group as will we likely be staying around HCHP crossing all the "T's" and dotting all the "I's" in preparation for later that afternoon's and evening's events.

I'm sure some others will put up their hand, if even at the last minute.

I suggest "No RTE", but perhaps you could provide a list of rides and attractions as we did in Mannum.   Attendees then have the option of exploring the region, or simply spending the time catching up with old friends and new.

Thanks Pete.

Yes that seems to be the best option.  Some ride options will be prepared, these will be included on an info sheet in the Rally Pack, mentioned at an introduction and welcome at the Friday afternoon Meet & Greet, as well as in a new thread (posted a week or so prior) so that attendees will have an opportunity to plan.

This will include a visit to the Delatite Winery as Neil has already indicated (a coupla posts above).

Re. the Meet & Greet, in addition to platters of nibbles being provided, the VIC organising group is also planning a sausage sizzle.  The Meet & Greet may be known hereafter as the Meat & Greet.  And before any of the vegetarians and / or vegans protest, there will be some non-meat options available.

National Rally Mansfield 2024 - What's Planned
« Reply #11 on: January 25, 2024, 03:48:10 PM »
What's in the Rally Pack and what do you get for your NatRally registration at $70 per head? This is what:

• Rally Polo T-shirt, patch and pin
• Meet & greet nibbles, plus a sausage sizzle
• A drink card for the Mansfield Hotel (where we have booked out Saturday evening dinner). This will be along the lines of "present this card for a free schooner of beer, glass of wine or soft drink when ordering your meal."
• A tea or coffee card for the Coffee Merchant Mansfield. This will be along similar lines, ie. "present this card for a free cup of tea or coffee when ordering your meal."

These represents a value of approx. $15 for those want to take advantage of these offers. Rather than a $70 registration fee, some can look at it as $55.

The Friday meet & greet - will we have a small group of dedicated and keen preparing the nibbles (biscuits, chips, dips, cheeses, etc...) on arrival, perhaps not as flash as Mudgee. But this will be followed up with a sausage sizzle and salads - an evening meal for many.

The Saturday evening dinner will be a pub meal - people will be ordering and paying individually (as we did at Mannum). The full pub al a carte menu will be available to choose from, as well as the pub's senior's menu- a few members will probably fancy that option.

Sunday evening will be an organised pizza run, and drinks well into the evening.

We are also making arrangement for a NatRally Mansfield 2024 coffee mug. Due to costs, this won't be included in the Rally Pack but it will be available for $8 (pre-orders) or $10 at the OzSTOC Shop at Mansfield for $10 (until stock runs out).

We are offering a good value and a fun-filled three days (or more for some), so get:
• Your leave approved
• Accommodation organised
• Registered, and
• To Mansfield.

Any queries? Post a question and/or, send a message.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

What's happening?  Here's a brief summary of organised events:
  • There'll be the usual Meet & Greet on the Friday afternoon, this will officially start at 5:00pm and the High Country Holiday Park Camp Kitchen (easy to find once you're there)
  • There'll be a group photo, all ST's wanted, non-ST's also welcomed, this will be around 4:00pm, location to be selected.
  • The NatRally dinner will be at the Mansfield Hotel, this will be from 6:00pm until stumps.  During the dinner we have a member guest speaker giving us a brief outline (some words and pics) of their recent overseas motorcycling tour, and our awards presentation - Member of the Year, Best ST, Most Charmistic ST, and Longest Distance Travelled (on a motorbike), and as well as a NEW AWARD - see below).
  • There'll be pizzas on Sunday evening, this will be around 6:00pm in the Camp Kitchen.

New Award

This will be for The Best non-ST.  This award will be open to all makes and models, Hondos, Trumpets, Yammys, Suzis, Kwakas, Guzzis, Bavarians (just don’t mention the war!), even Harleys, two or three wheelers, etc etc...  The winner will also receive some nice little goodies.   The Best non-ST will be Members' Choice by process of voting, to be explained at the Meet & Greet.

So get cleaning and polishing.

Cheers

It looks like our Saturday night dinner destination will be VERY busy.

Have received confirmation from the Mansfield Hotel that the cycling event presentations commence at 4:00pm, followed by their dinner and that the majority finish early, as they rise early Sunday for another event.

Day & Half-day Ride Options

There are many ride options available, the attached images provide a very brief outline and some comments on some of the most obvious.  Whilst the notes indicate coffee, meals and fuel availability at various destinations and locations, it's the rider's responsibility to make sure that he / she has made adequate preparation for their ride.

A hard, colour print copy will be in each Rally Pack.

Thanks.  That'll save me making some mud maps, and more importantly means I won't leave them at home.  I've done that a few times... hit the road and got to somewhere like Meningie to pull them out and find I left them at home.

Additional information re. a ride to
Jamieson or Kevington.

There is a post on the Kevington Hotel Facebook page indicating the pub is open on weekends.

https://www.facebook.com/kevingtonhotel (Last weekend looked pretty colourful.)

If I was hoping for a meal (been very good in the past), I'd be calling beforehand.
