Looks like Bendigo VIC from his profile.

Are you building a collection Johnny?  Cornering the market on Red ST13s?  Doing a Onesie.

I can get to Bendigo before Johnny, but after my last bargain purchase, I need to be a little more careful.

Now some questions for the brains trust re. the MC Cruise.
  • I understand there is an "old" MC Cruise and a "new" MC Cruise, is that the case?
  • How do I tell?
  • Can the MC Cruise be swapped from bike to bike without too much effort?
  • Who do I turn to for guidance?
  • Anything else I should ask?

Johnny covered most aspects.  Obviously you can't buy the "old" version any more, but the manufacturers still support it.
The current version is superior because it uses an electric stepper motor actuator which is more precise in its operation.   There's also a subtle improvement in the way you disengage it. That said, the original vacuum operated CC does a very good job.
It's well worth the cost saving to do a swap between bikes, but I couldn't be bothered.  The installation does nothing irreversible to the bike, so you could remove it and reinstall it on another bike.  As an amateur I set aside a weekend for the job but I think Farkleit can do it in about 4 hours.  He obviously doesn't have to budget re-reading the instructions for every step, having restorative coffees (and when the going gets rough, several medicinal Scotches), meal breaks, and "Honey-dos".
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

So it's the older MC Cruise that has the vacuum bowl / operator?

QLD is a bit far away for hands-on assistance.

What's a "Honey-do"?

What's a "Honey-do"?

"Honey do this please"? "Honey do that please"?   It eats up a weekend real quick :-)
A man rides on his STeed, says “Why am I short of attention? Got a short little span of attention”.

You can call me Steve, with apologies to Paul Simon.
