Yeah Streak, it is a bit early. We'll need the extra time because Vern and I are going to visit the Gumby Gumby man in Dalby.

I've never been to Bell either, nor Kumbia.

We'll see you there. On time I hope. :-)

What a great day.

Weather was perfect. Roads were good.  On the way up I managed to do 265 km via Gympie, Goomeri and Wondai in 3 hours and 3 minutes non-stop.

Had a great lunch and great company as always and got a few ideas on how to prepare for the OzSTOc SS1600K.

I also had a close look at how to mount a bar on the back of the bike for the CB antenna and hopefully some LED tail and indicators.

Then late in the day, headed home via the D'Aguilar with Shiney, Carrol and Gaz.

Cheers,
Gary

Thanks for a great RTE guys :hatwave

I left home with Carrol a bit after 09:00 and headed up to Caboolture to meet up with my brother-in-law (John).

Unfortunately he and his family were feeling sick :'( so John decided to stay and look after them and recover a bit himself.

We had a chat with them for a bit then continued on to meet up with Gaz.

After catching up with him we headed out :runyay

On the way to Kingaroy we saw a few ST1300s (I gave a wave and Gaz gave a toot on his horn :hatwave |-i)
Shortly after this we met IanB on his adventure bike. Ian pulled up next to us as we were scooting along, said hi then off he went (Zoom ;-*)

Well we made it to the RSL, had a great lunch and a great time chatting and catching up with everyone :beer   :eat   :thumbsup

After the fun at the RSL, Gaz, Gadget Carrol and I headed home :runyay
Once again it was a great ride home shared with friends.

Thank you all for a great day and a great RTE (this is the best club ever :thumbs :clap)

Cheers

What a great day and ride to Kingaroy RSL for our Queensland RTE
Streak and I met at BP Toowoomba North after pairing our headsets which I have never done before we headed up through Crows Nest to Cooyar to Yarraman where we stopped for coffee (Usually good coffee but not so today) While having Coffee it was good to see quite a few ST'S riding past heading to Kingaroy, When we were about to leave Redline and his Wife stopped for chat and we rode rest of way up with them. Up through Nanango then across to Kingaroy for a great Lunch

Had a talk to Redline about his new tail lights he had fitted

I only managed to get a lunch photo after most have left but we had a good chat about the up coming
OzSTOC AGM in Toowoomba on March 20th-23rd next Year

Streak and I departed about 3.30 and headed for Dalby but decided to go up through the Bunya Mountains
which I was surprised Streak has never been.
Well I have been through the Bunya Mountains at least a dozen times but after some rain it looked just great
Now this would make a great RTE destination
As I said we paired our Sena headsets. Well in the past I had only used it to listen to music, I had not even received a phone call on it
Well I was amassed how great they are and I even received a phone call on the way from a mate to have a quick discussion about the Cooroy FarRide coming up in 2 weeks. So I am wrapped  :hijacked
Anyway back to the ride, We headed back through Bowenville (First time across this road for me)
Arriving back in Toowoomba about 5.30
What a great day 360km by me but Streak on his new White ST1300 differs as my speedo is out approx. 6kph
Either that or Streak found a short cut

Thanks to all involved for making it an enjoyable day

It was a great day for a ride to Kingaroy. Marissa and I left home about 8am with friends Brian and Nat (who both ride Fjr's Yammies)
The first part of our ride was a run over Mt Glorious and out to Esk for a coffee stop. The plan from there was to run up to Hampton and then head north through Maidenwell to get to Kingaroy.

But I miss calculated the time needed to go that way and we chose to head straight to Yarraman and Nanango and that put us at the RSL right on 12:30. As always it was great to catch up with some familiar faces and meet a few new ones too.

Our ride home was the way we intended to come up through Maidenwell and Cooyer. Once we hit Crows nest we diverted around Lake Perseverance which is a lovely little detour that comes out half way up the Esk - Hampton road at Ravensborne. Heading down the range we came across a MVA that had just happened. A minivan with 5 ppl on board had rolled over. So we stopped to offer assistance until the ambo's arrived. Chatting to the family it was apparent the old guy driving (63) was driving like a lunatic just prior to the accident and the family were pleading with him to slow down. He had his wife, two daughters and two grand children in the van.

The grand kids escaped injury completely, but he rest of the passengers sustained various cuts and abrasions that needed attending too on the roadside. Marissa did a fabulous job attending to the injuries, her first aid skills certainly kicked in when needed. I was proud of her!

One thing you do realise though is just how long it can take for help to arrive if you have an accident out on these back roads. The fireies and Police got there first and the Ambo's arrived shortly after. But it was a long 30 minute wait for those on the side of the road.

Once everyone was Ok we headed off after walking our bikes through the accident scene and past all the emergency vehicles that had the road blocked. It reinforced the concept that you have to have respect for those little country roads and be mindful of how long you might be waiting if you come to grief out there.

It was dark by the time we got to Fernvale and without my night riding glasses it was a scary ride back to Blacksoil as I could see stuff all. Once we hit the lit motorway's I could see Ok and the rest of the trip was pleasant in the cool night air.

Thanks to everyone that organised the day it was once again a great RTE!  :thumbs
