Well not been on for a while but just seen the post about the run out tomorrow.  As long as you don't mind a Suzuki tagging along I'll be meeting up with my old ST1300 at the Ettamogah. :13Candy (Couldn't find a V Strom!)

Sorry folks, but with all the rain about and much more predicted for tomorrow, I'll be pulling out of this ride. Shame, since it's been a while since the last RTE and was hanging out for this one.  Ah, well...

For those that will be braving the weather....stay safe and up right. Will be thinking of you guys. :thumbs

Hey Johnny.  I just got some new PR4's myself and put them to the test on Tuesday night. Went down Macquarie Pass in the dark, in the wet, and in thick fog. Not the most pleasant experience, but the PR4's were excellent.  Bike felt very secure at all times. Love them!  :Blow

Hi Guys, Rally and I are are still on, with exception that we've now moved onto plan B. We'll be giving Bells line of road a miss and heading up the highway where it meets with Mulgoa rd at Penrith.
Johnny just messaged and said he's also still on. Will see the stalwarts on the Mountain.

The weather as expected played apart in the RTE attendance to Wentworth Falls, but despite the heavens some OzSTOC members and their trusty red steads still made for a good showing with a couple of other breeds thrown into the mix.

Was great to meet the new members and the old hands as well to the club and the world of OzSTOC RTE's.

I got back to Canberra at 5pm. Two hours of rain and winds, so made up for missing the wet on Friday. Johnny missed the wet as it started near pheasants nest - would have been a good test to see if STeed does not stop working in the wet.

Good to see new and older faces. Next bakery run should have perfect weather....

Great WET day ride, thanks Ruben for leading through the mist.. Unreal as we approached Wentworth Falls the sun came out, for a couple of hours, and as we left and rode back into Penrith down came the rain again....BUT... close shave for the four of us riding back,  as we approached Mulgoa a dickhead coming towards us overtook onto our side of the road and we all had to take evasive ection and run along the verge of the road to miss him,  NO he did not pull back in just stayed on our side of the road and we were lucky we missed him..Good work chaps...

STranger and I braved the weather to go on the RTE  :eat. left home in heavy rain and met Ruben and rally at Bringelly and took a wet  easy ride thru Mulgoa and onto the GWH up to  the pie shop. we were joined by saaz Duncan and atoyot on thier bikes and Abe and fam,ST2UP and Pockey and Duncan's folks, sorry I've forgotten your names  :fp,  who attended without their STeeds,. the rain had STopped whilst we were off the rd.
back down the mountain and into the rain.
I was at the rear when everyone ahead was taking evasive action and to see ahead went slightly to the right to be almoST cleaned up by the dickhead overtaking, :eek but managed to shift out of his way.
it was a good RED day out. even in the wet, I cant wait until the OzSTOC jackets are in production as my current dri-rider aint keeping me dri no more. thanks guys for the company today  and i case your wondering  I didnt shrink any more. :rofl

On the way home, no rain to report of west of Wentworth Falls at all, although the skies were pretty threatening after Bathurst, where it got much colder. Took a detour through Sodwalls, Tarana and Mutton Falls Rd on the way back.  The MT drank 5L/100KM on the rolling hills to home, which is almost as good as the ST.

Thanks for a great afternoon guys; good to catch up again and meet others I hadn't met before, and looking forward to getting out more after our reno's get past the painting stage, but will still try to get a few in before, next time on the ST!

Hello Everyone, Here's my first attempt at posting from photobucket.

Thanks to all for a great ride and great company + great pies. It was nice catching up with known faces and some new ones. Even the rain was great because I stayed dry and toasty, the Oxford heated grips did come in handy in the morning because I mis-chose and had the fingerless gloves on. On the way back we even managed a car support group, thanks Abe and family and Chris and Jean, however, guys, please remember that the support vehicles are not meant to overtake the riders and add salt to the wound by giving the friendliest smile and wave.
Further down the mountain and down into the plains on Mulgoa road, with a double yellow line I saw a long line of cars coming our way when a Kamikaze chose to pull out from way back (it was uphill for them) and use our lane to overtake the others. Some quick maths told me the point of impact would have been at around 160 Ks Hr and I went into immediate preservation mode (hoping that Rally, Saaz then Johnny behind me would quickly notice our peril), so, on a down hill in the rain, went for the gentle anchors and started to ride the verge. The tool overtook our little group and I don't think he was back in his lane until he was well and truly past us. (at this point Abe is saying "Kangaroos in the rain on one trip, then Cars in the rain in another"). I wonder if he took the chance to overtake because we were bikes and thought he might squeeze through. I will make every effort to buy myself a camera for future trips as I'm sure a video capture of this incident sent to the relevant people would have yielded some interesting results.

Until the next trip...  :hatwave

The car was just back on the right side of the road before it got to me (only because I had hit the brakes and moved as far over as I could). I am sure Ruben would have been awarded something (posthumously) for taking one for the team, but he was too good and avoided it.

Just some of the diehard members who ventured out on a very ordinary day in the mountains to a great little pie shop.....looks like the fog that rolled through just prior to the outside group pic made it inside for lunch in this pic  :whistle.........note to self let the camera phone focus before you pull the trigger  :think1
