I have a 2000 ST1100 :dred11 that has the Heli adjustable bars and although they are quite versatile I cannot quite find the bolt upright riding position that I would like. I am 5' 8" with reasonably long arms. What I am seeking is a no wrist load bolt upright riding position. I am not sure that this is possible but I am hoping that another combination of handlebar / riser setup may yield a better outcome. Any suggestions appreciated

Gday Chris and welcome to OzSTOC :thumbsup
You could perhaps try to procure a pair of BMW K75/100 Handle bars.....they will lift you up further and rake back more towards you.
Of course rerouting or your cables etc will be required.
cheers

G'day Chris_, welcome to the forum :hatwave
As opposed to replacing the Heli Bars you could look into adding bar risers.
There are many options around (like the three below)...
(http://static.twisted-throttle.net/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/28496d0a14ec004b76332fd2427e3099/l/e/leh_07_039_12400_b_3_xl_web.jpg) (http://mojegs.cz/5703-thickbox_default/zvyseni-riditek-cerne-32mm-nahoru-25mm-dozadu-r1200gsa-lc.jpg) (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1350/0197/products/1b4297_04885327904c4387a401c4d61730b212_grande.jpg?v=1514970674)
All of these options will raise the bars and bring them back towards the rider.

Thank you very much for your input ST2UP now that you say it I seem to remember some mention of the BMW bars being used but it had been filed away in my not so perfect memory :) . Shiney, The riser addition may well be the place to start as I do not look forward to rerouting the cables as it is I am not sure the cables can stand much more rise. Do you know if there are other cables that sometimes need to be used or is it just a matter of routing. Thanks for the warm welcome to the forum :beer glad to be here

You can get a little more length with some careful routing but I wouldn't be surprised if you needed custom cables with the Heli Bars and a 2 or 3 inch riser.
Some of the other guys may know more or have some more suggestions.
But keep us updated on how you go mate :thumbsup
