ST1100 Model Identification

  Need help - I think???

Trying to establish what model bike I have. I was told it was ex-police  but I have my doubts.

Can you tell by using the chassis # ?

Is there a magical kingdom or even a link that someone may know of ( would prefer the kingdom but )

A picture would help, but a really easy way to tell is by the presence  or lack of an accessory wiring plug under the seat at the back, and 8 wires that end in bullet sockets. Standard bikes dont have it.

Also, on the left side below the pocket is a hazard switch, and a switch ladled 6 (or 9 if its been put in upside down) and of course the ever popular right hand switch cluster next to the throttle

Under your seat on the frame you should have a sticker showing colour code and model like the one in the photo. For example , yours should have ST1100PP if it's a 93 model police bike.

Police models should be:- PP for 93, PS for 95, PT for 96, PY for 2000 and 3P for 2003

There is this site where you can check your VIN number as well and it will give your model etc there as well

Jackpot..... I belive I have a 96 Model ST1100PT .
I do have the Hazard Switch. - Only works if you use indicator left or right to activate.
6 Button next to it is there but a mystery as it apears to be push only switch?
No police switch block on rhs - was thinking of tracking one down to put it back to original. Ideas anyone?

Under the tail near the Accessory plugs is a three pin socket, A flasher can is supposed to be there for the Hazard lights, without using indicators.

There are usually police clusters to be had on ebay, its just a matter of plugging in to the two socket under the airbox front rh side.

Howdy Sargent from a neighbour (Canberra). I was just in Goulburn this morning at the bakery near the sheep.

I also have a 96 P model. You will probably have a colour sticker on the frame cross member under the seat with colour code NH138 (police white)  Someone must have sold/swapped out the police switch to make it look civilian.  One benefit of the 96 on models is that you have the car style alternator with 40 plus amps available.

I go to Young sometimes.  If you have any questions ask away or we can meet up sometime for a ride. I know of two other Canberra riders with police models, so we have various bits and pieces lying around, or have already been there/done that with maintenance, buying parts etc etc.

The screen appears to be from SlipScreens Australia - so says the sticker on it and I'm unsure of what the bolts were for, Purchased as is.

Just did a little more research and found this,
