:think1 STranger  has done 150,000 ks, 100+ k's mine, the wear is minimal, these final drive thingy's lQQk like  the splines are  made using some sort of press. I really dont know... does anyone here have any idea?

thats just grime on shaft  after I cleaned grease off splines
note the ridges form as to why I think they are pressed.

They look similar to pictures of other ones I have seen that have been in use.

I took a few more pics of STranger's rear end bits and shafts.
this is the road grime
and all cleaned nice and clean inside even, I dint even wipe it out
His drive shaft & splines & uni-joint. This is how it was when removed from swing-arm, apart from removing grease on spline
I havent  had to touch it.
I havent opened the rear hub think I'll leave it ..
oh and here's a part # I found under grime

Gloss black engine enamel will have that looking like new. The engine enamel dries to a very tough finish, doesnt chip easily so would look good.

Actually used the engine enamel on some 5,10, 20 and 50 Kilo weights used for calibrating various items, so get a lot of use. The banging around has done very little damage to the finish, and that has been several years.

So now the 5kg one is 5001 grams.  Still within specs, I guess.     :p

Actually, we machined the weights to Lbs, pre adjusted the weight (mass) and painted them. Then they went out for calibration. The weight comes in at a tolerance  of around 100x better than the items we use them to calibrate.
