Title: Worthwhile Maintenance ST1300
Post by: West Aussie Glen on December 13, 2021, 03:00:04 PM
I have just remioved a tow bar from a friends ST1300 and found a couple of interesting things.
To remove the tow bar I had to remove the top box mounting plate.
There are six socket head screws that hold the plastic plate to the steel plate. One of thse screws was rusted in place due to moisture getting to the screw from underneath.
I would suggest that the next time you feel like doing some maintence you check these screws and treat them with some anti seize.
The second item was that one of the 4 item 29s here https://bluecitymotorcycles.com.au/oem/honda/search-parts?brand=honda&year=2010&model=4898&assembly=69596 had fallen out and been replaced by a standard screw without the  the diameter. I was lucky enough to find it sitting in the tupperware. It may beworthwhile checking these. There are two of them holding on each item 15.

Looks like a moderately important screw WAG, seeing as it holds the lock plate on..
