I deduce they carry the water in the panniers and the pump and hoses in the top box.

Where did you find it Diesel?  Is it in Melbourne?  The badge doesn't become any clearer with magnification.

Merseyside has one that looks like it was decorated by the Bahrainis.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Honda ST1300 On Fire

 From Honda Australia

Honda Australia and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) have joined forces to create Australia’s first “Fire Bike”.

As well as its MFB livery including red and blue lights and sirens, Honda has fitted heated hand grips to the ST1300 for those frosty Melbourne winter mornings.

The bike also sports electronic cruise control, as well as a fire extinguisher and first aid kit.

According to Leading Firefighter Adam Smibert, who Honda has had a long association with through the MFB Honda Race Team, the Bike is already being utilised in a variety of ways.

“For the last four years MFB Racing has been using Honda's CBR600RR as their road safety bike,” Smibert explained.

“We felt it was time to create a bike that is more suited to road safety and more identifiable. The ST1300 was the perfect choice for this purpose as it is a fantastic touring machine.”

The Fire Bike has been created to make both riders as well as car drivers more aware of the safety issues relevant to them as road users.

“The MFB and other road safety authorities agree that that motorcycle road safety is a shared responsibility,” Smibert said.

“Further, the need for motorcycle road safety is becoming increasingly important because the purchase and use of motorcycles in this country has sky rocketed.”

Recently, the Fire Bike appeared at the Teddy Whitten Oval for the Variety Club’s Western Bulldogs training day, as well as in the Alexandra Gardens for the Australia Day Festival. It will next be on display at the 2007 Formula1 Grand Prix in Melbourne this March.

“We take the bike to display at community fetes, festivals, motor shows, open days, shopping centres, schools and charity events, and also use it as part of Victoria Police and MFB Safety Programs.”

“I recently went on a group club ride interstate and it was amazing how much interest it generated wherever we went,” Smibert said.

“Everyone at MFB is grateful for the effort Honda has put into this project and are looking forward to getting out into the community as much as possible this year with the new Fire Bike.”

Be a bit nicer to ride than the 26 Henderson Deluxe fire bike on the second video in the 'Barn find' clips.
