There's a guy out at Biggenden with a huge collection of stuff like that, including about 20 Douglas motorcycles.  There's a room full of old sewing machines, one with tractors etc etc.  He'll never sell any of it.  Will be a treasure trove for someone someday.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Does he let the public through? There are some really fabulous Douglas bikes. I just missed out on buying one on Perth about 10 years ago, kicked myself ever since for not buying it.

It seems such a waste to let it be broken up and sold. It would be good to have it as a memorial to the guy.

He certainly does.  I went through with a CMA group.  He basically let us have the run of the place.  I'd have to ask someone how to contact him, but I can point him out:

Thanks Biggles, it will go on my must visit list for the next time I am in QLD.
This is a little info a friend found on the barn collection:-

Hi Glen,

I was bored so I did the following calculations.

The Auctions America web site, provided the following info. regarding the "Barn" auction last November.

75 cars were auctioned for a total value of $857,000.

A 1950 Edwards R26 Roadstar sold for $143,750 and a 1950 Veritas BMW sold for $195,500.
