After a couple of minor camera adjustments I managed a successful tryout.

Not only am I learning how to use a new camera but the Cyberlink video editing software that came with the new PC. I wasn't sure if I should use 720p or 1080p for the upload but I find when I download 720p from You Tube the quality is lacking for viewing on a 1080p desktop so I went with the 1080.

The setting is set to private so we can't access it.

I tap on the link, it goes to U tube but then tells me the video is private and won't let me view it. 😂

I am thinking of buying the new Sena bluetooth compatible video camera . . $459 I'M interested in a comparison between it and the Hero . .

Where have you got the camera mounted? seems like the side of your helmet. do you get any wind pressure when riding faster. I mounted my camera on top of my helmet as is only records vertically and the mounting has to be vertical. do feel a reasonably difference in wind drag when the camera is mounted, especially 100+. A little off-putting, but have got used to it.

I used the supplied helmet mount on and fitted to right side so as not to interfere with intercom.

At 50 k/h in town I never noticed anything different with wind on the helmet other than the usual airflow. I've ordered more sticky mounts for different views on the bike and tailer.

We have an RTE on the 17th which might allow for some more scenic clips.

Alan, that's a good resolution.
No doubt you'll experiment with voice-over and music to mask the road/wind noise.
The versatility of a helmet-mounted system is marred IMHO by the helmet and bike dashboard always being in the frame.
Some years ago I made an aluminium base complete with a rubber pad which I mounted on the RHS police light bracket. The camera attached to the base using a small bolt with the same thread used to mount a camera to a tripod. This arrangement located the camera to the right of the windscreen and had the advantage of being closer to the centre of the road. The obvious disadvantage with my mount arrangement was its fixed position,

The music maybe but doesn't utube have issues with putting music on your home made stuff? As for my voice: I'm not going there.

I had a look at that and rearranged the mount so it's out further from the helmet. I'm more inclined to use the cam on helmet in a city environment rather than a rural area but no other option at the moment.

With the power supply (charge on the go) on the dash shelf I was going to place a mount on top of the LH mirror but that idea didn't last long as the driving light will eventually be there. Underneath the mirror looks good instead.

Only if you plan on putting ads in your channel to make money getting partnered. If not, then go nuts with the music.

All that will happen will be the music publishers will claim the music and they might stick an ad on it. Music will also restrict viewing on some mobile devices.

I should have said that my RHS 7" Lightforce spotlight mounted through the camera mount and into the police bracket. The camera sat to the right of the 7" spotlight.

Great quality - Good job.
You might try removing the sound track before unloading the next one - it will reduce the size considerably. Music is always an individual thing I find.

Thanks.......I find the length of this clip is about the same as most U-tube music ones that I download. But the one I uploaded (422 MB) is about half the original size as taken on the cam (844 MB) and U-tube reduced it again to 132 MB.

Adding music would depend on the type of clip.....and something to play around with.

I ordered a suction cup mount a couple weeks ago and it arrived in Mondays post.

I tested it yesterday and video clip looks ok. Very little wind noise unlike the helmet location.......

Once the HID driving lights are fitted I can have a sticky mount on either or both of them and the pictured mount more than likely will get used in/on the car or even use on the trailer.

First I did the medium view and then added the narrow view for comparison. The medium is ok but it seems unnaturally fast while the narrow view picture is a little more shaky. But then it could just be our local steets. I like the cam located here better than on my helmet.

GoPro has three view settings (on 1080p at least) wide, medium and narrow and I guess it works like the zoom does on a standard still/video cam.

I have yet to try the wide (angle) but through the cam's screen it appears to fish eyed for my liking as do the stills I took accidently over the weekend.

I like that view but if you used the wide angle you would get awesome footage of the front wheel doing its thing as well.

Give it a go and see.

Post it so we can compare and contrast and make valid arguments about what you should !!!!

Below is where I position my Drift Ghost, the suction cup had been holding on for six months without coming detatched but I recently physically detatched it my self and re attached it again just to be sure it was holding on ok. After the last update of the Drift Camera I'm now able to use my Drift as a dash cam, that is while connected to bike power it automatically turns itself on and films in preset segments (2 min -5 min -10 min etc) and then stores that on the SD card, and continues to do that until the card is full, it then deletes the first segment taken and continues on filming and storing etc........so what you wind up with is your last 3 hours of riding in set segments, I have it set for 5 minute segments.......I also have a suction cup set up on the windscreen of my car so I just connect the Drift to that when I'm driving. If anything interesting has occured during my ride or drive I can download that segment, or all segments to my computer, or I can just delete the whole lot, or simply leave and continue on filming next time I'm out and about. Can also connect to the top of my helmet if required and wouldn't even know it was connected. I'm really happy with the quality and functions of the Drift

love the wheels movement and love the sound of the engine ..... so much better than the sound of the wind screaming past.
