Clutch fluid change / bleed - very soft clutch lever
« on: July 12, 2016, 04:05:32 PM »
Hi all,

After a "how to" procedure on changing clutch fluid - and in layman's terms. I've bought a 'one man' bleeder system from Supercheap and dot 4 fluid.

This is as my clutch lever has gone very soft with little resistance, with the friction point pretty much as you begin to release the lever, and the reading I've done suggests to start with this before looking at a rebuild.

Cheers.

Hi Andrew, I to, had a minor issue with the clutch going soft, so to speak. Your self bleeding pump is the first place to start. Completely change fluid dragging it through the slave cylinder will work wonders. I normally use a different colour fluid so I can see when I have fresh fluid into the system. Mines been great since and I do the change as part of the annual oil filter change. Nigel............................ :wht11
