Title: Looking at a ST1300
Post by: Flubby - (Duanne} on May 07, 2019, 09:30:11 PM
Hey all I have a ST1100 and looking at upgrading to a 2002 St1300.
Question is what do I need to look for re the age and wear etc?
The owner is the original owner but doesn’t ride it new battery installed and has 35ishkms I know it needs a new screen and it’s advertised for $5500 roughly.

Good morning Flubby , I would be looking at an ABS model for those dollars which includes the electric screen a bike with  a good service record and low km ...will go a very long time keep looking at bike sales and gumtree plenty there though overpriced be patient they are not selling fast
There is a nice  04 in Warrnambool 40k with MCCruise  wants 6.9

With these bikes now getting a bit long in the tooth, I would be looking for a strong service history for oil/brake/clutch fluid changes, along with good bodywork condition.    With regular service these bikes will give fault free service well over 150,000km and beyond.

Gidday Harieg. Long Time no see. I still have my 2004 with 66k on the clock, but it's not for sale.  :grin Yet.  Wot thuh. Mate, at 135k, it still has a lot of life left in it if it's been looked after. Given the way Mr. Honda did a fire sale on the last of the ST's in Australia, this hurt the 2nd hand market A LOT. I don't imagine I would get much more than 6k - 6.5k for mine, if I'm lucky. I don't have any farkles. At 135,000k's, I imagine 5.5k -6k would be top dollar. Sad for the seller, but true I think. It's still a LOT of bike for the money. Interested to know what others value their pride and joy at. I would be better off financially to crash mine as I think it's valued at 9.5k for insurance purposes. But hey, I don't like pain.  :whistle
