Title: Camper Trailer from Blackduck
Post by: Pezzz on June 08, 2015, 01:34:08 PM
Well, as most of you know, I recently purchased a customised camper trailer from Blackduck.
So far I have taken it out twice. Once behind the bike to Dwellingup, and then last weekend (long weekend here in WA) we towed it behind the car and I thought I would share some pics.
This is the day I picked it up and bought it home.

Did a quick test setup on the front lawn

Then it was off to Dwellingup.

Stu was quite surprised at the amount of stuff I was able to pack into it (as I wanted to pack it as if Trina and I were going away for a decent trip with it)
Stopped on a weigh bridge on the way down and with the bike off the bridge, the trailer weighed about 260Kg all up.

Yes, that is a full camp kitchen with cupboards etc as well as 3 burner stove  :fp
The Yellow tent belongs to a mate of mine Jack who came down for the weekend as well.

Then I managed to run into all of these fellas (and 1 pit crew) at New Norcia

I took the three of us and one of Kiera's friends up to Dongara last weekend so we towed it behind the car and made an annex with our old tent.

We didn't have room on the site to setup the blue awning .....  :eek
And yes, they have a full ensuite for each campsite - awesome  :thumb

Now here is the interesting bit and it took a bit of work to make it fit on the car.
(http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac9/pezzz74/Trailers%20and%20Camping/20150520_134120_zpskfuxzedk.jpg) (http://s880.photobucket.com/user/pezzz74/media/Trailers%20and%20Camping/20150520_134120_zpskfuxzedk.jpg.html)
Now flipped upside down
(http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac9/pezzz74/Trailers%20and%20Camping/20150520_134128_zpsscpllbs5.jpg) (http://s880.photobucket.com/user/pezzz74/media/Trailers%20and%20Camping/20150520_134128_zpsscpllbs5.jpg.html)
And it fits onto this pin
(http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac9/pezzz74/Trailers%20and%20Camping/20150520_134109_zpsy67yhm5r.jpg) (http://s880.photobucket.com/user/pezzz74/media/Trailers%20and%20Camping/20150520_134109_zpsy67yhm5r.jpg.html)
The tow hitch is an MCHitch and uses a different attachment to the vehicle rather than the old ball mount. There is also a locating pin which unfortunately is placed in a spot wider then the width of a standard tow bar tongue. But ....... it is such a great system on the bike !!! There is no "lash" when breaking that you get on the ball mount and the whole thing tows beautifully.

Stu also made some outrigger legs that stabilise / level the trailer as well as provide support for the bed to fold out onto.

All in all, I have been very happy with the trailer and looking to get a lot of use out of it.
Thanks again Stu !!!!   :hatwave :hatwave

If you take that on BR15 we won't have to book accommodation.

I think it may get a bit snuggly with all of us in there.
