My job finished as of 13 Dec, so no job, no income. Too much money in the bank to get a top up pension for the Defence superannuation, but stuff all super money from the last 25 years to last long. As I am 67, I also cant get a part time job as I am in the High risk zone.

Cant even afford to finish fixing the bike.... No money to buy gas for the welders, or steel to make things. Cant even go to Thailand, as they need covid Insurance cover (to US$100000) and a certificate from the doc ( dated no more than three days before arrival) to say covid free.. Cant get those, also they just closed international arrivals.

I do get to see my grand kids occasionally. Things will probably start to come good again soon, as Oz hasnt been hit too badly.

So smile, buy a carton (if you can) sit in the back yard and meditate..

Now its time to go take a walk around the block.. back in an hour or so.

P.S.

Its a good thing i got a pay doublingto keep an eye on this unruly bunch..

In rode to and from work on Friday (work has provided a letter to say we're an essential service), and as I was riding, I realised I was vulnerable to anyone ahead of me, coughing out their window.

So I've decided, I'll disconnect the battery and leave Aragog parked up, and work from home.

Should I have to go into work, I'll drive.

Not an option for me as I don't have a car.  Anyway, driving feels like work.

Interestingly, my next-door neighbor, Mrs. Palmer, hubby BTW, passed on a few years ago, has five Daughters. She said that the Corona Virus has already brought many people at home, a lot of happiness. Just goes to show that relief happens in many forms............... :eek

I was chatting to Andy from "Andy Strapz" https://www.andystrapz.com/  the other day, when I rang to order a bag.    He said that business had just died, but is confident that it will spring back when this is over.    He reckons that when the travel restrictions are lifted, all of the LD/Touring motorcyclists will be lined up like a LeMans Start waiting for the green light.

I see they've eased restrictions a little in W.A...  :thumbs

Key Points:

*Gatherings of up to 10 people — indoor and outdoor — will be permitted
*People are advised to stay home except for some key activities, including work
* Non-contact recreational activities, including picnics and fishing, are allowed

Does that mean it's okay to ride???  :think1

In WA travel is generally restricted to the region you live in. For me this is Perth and I am limited to about 50 kms north, east and south.

https://www.mainroads.wa.gov.au/AboutMainRoads/News/Pages/COVID-19.aspx

If I head towards Albany I have been told the check point is at Yule Du, 27 kms from my home.

Ive been to and from work the past week not seen any road block or check points along Toodyay road at all
Now im on leave over the next two weeks id rather lay low and keep away from the public with the odd solo ride or two

Now passimng through a  cheap point @ Morangup army police and lollypop men

NSW Premier confirms riding is exercise... ++

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has today admitted on Sydney radio riding a motorcycle is exercise and therefore legal.

She says NSW Police have not booked anybody, because riding a motorcycle is “akin to riding an exercise bike”.

When the lockdown first started we contacted the Prime Minister’s office, the national coronavirus hotline and the state premiers’ offices and state health departments to ask if riding was classified as exercise.

They all agreed it was.

However, police in several states disagreed.

Isn’t it time we had some consensus on this issue from all premiers and police departments?

The Australian Motorcycle Council says they are “always pleased to see recognition by government authorities of motorcycling in any form, but especially the recent statements from Queensland and NSW acknowledging that motorcycling is allowed in the current COVID19 restrictions”.

NSW eases motorcycle travel restrictions

New South Wales riders can ride to visit friends from today (Friday 1 May 2020) as the state eases its coronavirus travel restrictions.

You can ride with a pillion, or with one other rider or several members of the same household to visit other households for social gatherings.

There is no limit on how far you can ride, but border crossings are still out of the question.

Home from a convoluted ride within 50 kays of home. Saw three radar traps but no one pulled over by Police.  Everyone was doing the right thing regarding distancing at the three stops we made.  Rode with one other couple.  Clocked 204 kays.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
