Fastest EVER Lap of the Isle of Man TT | Peter Hickman - 136.358mph

I'll click on this when I get home tonight, with Helen away with some of the grandchildren, I might even watch it on the 65" screen, but only for a couple of minutes, don't think I could sit through 17 min.

The IoM TT has a terrible, woeful (anymore superlatives to use?) track (pardon the pun) record (again), with far, far more than its fair share of crashes and fatals.  I suppose most of the guys assume that it won't happen to me, and most of the time it doesn't, but the stats tell us that all too often it has.  It's a shame that the organisers put such a low value on the lives of others, and of course those participating put such a low value on their own lives.

Oh yeah, these guys have some unbelievable riding skills, but (to me) these guys also have balls far bigger than their brains.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Yeah, 17 minutes is a bit hard on the ol' neck...They need to lap a bit quicker, I reckon!  :whistle :rofl

There's been a few Aussies killed over the years, probably most notably Tom Phillis & Kenny Blake... :'(

Some of those intersections requiring micro-second decisions are amazing!  I know they ride the track until they know it off by heart, but you still have to recall and apply the knowledge in milliseconds.  219.4469kph average means there are some pretty slippery straights.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

With over 200 corners it has me stumped how they can remember them all!
I have enough trouble remembering what I did 5 minutes ago...lol

With a lap being a bit over 60km, I reckon my lap times would be somewhere in the region of 2 hours...or longer if I needed to stop for a wee break!  :fp  :crackup

I was thinking that it would be a great ride at a normal speed where you could take in the scenery :thumbsup
