I have the colour swatches, Deisel, ST2UP, Pocky, Saaz and I are looking at it toomorrow, that's it at the moment we are in the slow part of the process....

Colour chosen  :thumbsup and it was unanimous........Colour is known as repsol orange, will give the jacket a great balance between inconspicuous and can you see me know !!!....Mark from Zen is very enthusiastic about getting this right for the club.

Outside the current sizing spec.... hmmmm thank God for that. Not only am I outside but I'm down the bloody road and round the corner... 7 to 8XL for me !!!
STOP LAUGHING :-)
The price is VERY affordable as long as it fits. BTW I bought a supposedly '7XL' summer mesh jacket made in Pakistan... it must have been made for a 7XL bean pole coz the two zippers at the front were at least 4 inches apart when I had it on. I wear 6 to &XL Tshirts and they are loose fitting.

Streak, unless I'm mistaken there's something wrong with your sizing chart. According to Dri-riders Australian Sizing System the following applies.

XS 34' 87cm
S 37" 95cm
M 40" 102cm
L 42" 107cm
XL 44" 112cm
2XL 46" 117cm

It just doesn't look right to me, I have a 42" chest and according to your chart I'd need to take an XS size, where as I always buy M or L size!

Just thought you might like to double check your sizing!! :grin

I think dry-rider sizes are a beast upto themselves... when I went to try on pants a while ago they said in the shop, that they don't conform to standard sizing.

ok mark is on the job! good fun of it all!

once sizing is sorted, anyone outside of the sizing will go into the special order category, and he will communicate directly with you to get the sizing and fit, and there will be no extra cost to do this.

To measure your arm it is from the point of your shoulder to your wrist.

just to advise everyone once sample is approved everyone will be emailed directly with ordering and so forth.

this thread is about keeping everyone in the loop of where we are up to and what is happening  :thumb

Mate, I just brought a Dri-rider Climate Control jacket (short) and the size was spot on for me. The sizes I indicated above are very much standard sizes anywhere else! There is no way I'd ever get into a XS size Jacket, there gotta be something wrong somewhere! :crazy

Heather says I need a new jacket so September is good timing. But I still think that my current jacket of 3 years still has a few years left in it yet.

My 2 cents worth... yes I like the design as for material I have both a leather jacket that I love this time of year but the Revit jacket I have had for years is best for Qld summer and rain, it has vented zips front and back with removable liner and Velcro on the sleeves for tight fit over gloves body armour in shoulder and elbow and some padding down the back, but really after reading comments above I'm happy to go with the majority of comments for synthetic jacket. see link below for similar jacket to the one I have.

UPDATE!

Since the Colour of the Orange has been decided on, we are ordering the sample, but as we have discovered this will take a while, and then getting it sent around the the whole country simply is not doable time wise, Mark and I have decided to get one made to my measurements, and OzSTOC leadership and a couple of old heads will come for some viewing, photo's and double checking.

We have price for the jacket!

Jacket Price: $177 Inc GST, plus $17 freight per jacket,

All monies when the time comes will be paid to Zen Motorcycle Gear, so that everyone gets a separate invoice for warranty purposes.

Measurements

If you always wear just a  t-shirt do the measurement whilst wearing a the T shirt.
If you wear a few layers wear those then measure. favourite windcheater.  If your gut measurement is larger than your chest it may be best to go up a size to accommodate.
This will help to select the right size.

Some examples:-
112 cm. chest should select xl

122 cm. (including jumper )  should take 3XL

100cm around in the chest they always take Medium should tale medium

remember that this arm length is been measured from the collar to cuff ( is this the collar at the side of the neck or the back of the neck? Just making sure.
We are working through the bigger than 4XL people, so stay tuned on that  :thumbs

To assist in receiving the correct size of jacket run a tape measure under your arms around your chest, whilst wearing the clothing you wear while riding i.e.

To measure your arm length it is from the point of your shoulder to your wrist.

-If you always wear just a  t-shirt do the measurement whilst wearing a the T-shirt.

-If you wear a few layers wear those then measure. Favorite windcheater.  If your gut measurement is larger than your chest it may be best to go up a size to accommodate.

-This will help to select the right size.

Delivery Time Frame

So now the wait will be for the sample jacket which is going to take a couple of weeks, and then from there it is approving the sample which will also add a week or so, then we will be looking around 8 weeks for production, so we are tracking for an August/September delivery at this stage.

this is all i have, i will keep posting updates as i have them, custom made does take a bit of time, but we are working as quick as we can! any questions don't hesitate to ask  :thumb

Those measurements really don't clear too much up. I really need to try one on before I'd be happy to buy. I have a very nice genuine Honda jacket in 2xl and a Collins touring jacket in 2xl, both fit me fine, but your measurements put me into a 3xl or larger, also I must have T-Rex arms because mine measure as XS according to the sizing chart. Sorry can't afford fork out the bucks without knowing I'm gonna get something that fits.

that's ok mate, we are getting the sample made to see how the quality and fit works out before we step into purchasing and ordering, the sizing is a guide, once we get the sample jacket, then there will be more information to be had  :thumbsup

I may be overly cautious here before ordering.
I have  2 dririder jackets, both using the Reissa waterproof lining the proposed jacket is using.
Both jackets leaked at the elbows in 18 months of daily use. Both jackets leaked on my stomach, water gettring past the velcro, the tucked over flap and the zip.
and i do not have a big belly.  Has anyone had any experiance with zen gear over time?
Not trying to put a damper on things, just curious.

Hi paul, I have been using Zen gear for about 16 months now, Teela and I both have jackets (I have touring and Teela has the ladies jacket) and gloves and have performed really well for the price bracket, the waterproofing and comfort factors have held up really well.

I know saaz has both a zen touring jacket and pants so I am sure he will put his thoughts in.

Mark who owns Zen Motorcycle gear has been involved with the club for a long time now, and all our dealings have been professional and organised.

G'Day Paul, I put a mate of mine onto ZEN as he needed a jacket for his young bloke......he didnt wish to spend big dollars as he would need to replace nearly every year as his son is only 11.

He was so impressed with the quality and the price after he recieved the jacket.....he bought one as well to replace is older leaking leather jacket.

I and many others here have the ZEN FNQ Gloves and the are very comfy for the price you pay  :popcorn
