Goldwing 300 000 Miles
« on: May 11, 2018, 10:02:02 AM »
Our 03 ST1300 has 93 000 K's on the clock and I have read that there are a number of ST Riders have clocked up 200 000 K's which I think says something about Honda's product. I have only owned Honda's so can't speak for any other brands.

The 06 Wing has done 500 000 K's and averaged 41 000 k's/year.

In March 2017 in the US of A an owner clocked up 1 million miles on his 76 GL1000 from new, Honda offered a new wing in exchange, he told them to stick it.
Engine rebuild was done at 830k miles.

So at what age does this "old enough to know better" kick in?
I believe in the "hereafter", every time I go to the shed I have to think "what am I here after"

Road with a group in Melbourne on one occasion a few years ago and one of the boys had an ST1100 with over 400,000ks on it and still going strong. I absolutely believed this was genuine. Apparently just stuck to the required servicing and no rebuilds etc. I actually don't have an ST as yet as years ago, I joined because I had an ST1300 but had to sell it because I was constantly being followed by the local fire brigade who thought that the bike was going to burst into flames given the amount of heat it was emitting. Road the ST1100 before that and should have bought one of those. Now back into the market looking for one after I sell my current GSX1400. Looking forward to joining you on my first ride hopefully soon. cheers and happy travels.
