Heather's 10 month old PC had a few issues and it was decided to do a factory restore. Undertook all the steps needed and transferred the data that needed to be kept onto an external drive.
I had the option to either use the restore partition or use the restore discs and I opted for the latter. Restore not complete error message with an option to try again but no luck.
Rang HP yesterday and on their instruction did a system test. The code that came up suggested a hardware issue so PC is packed up awaiting a courier so it can be returned and repaired.
In one sense we're happy it happened now as the warranty runs out in two months. Only thing we are not sure of is what we'll get back. HP suggested anything from a repair using refurbished parts to another PC.
Their service centre rang yesterday to confirm the details and they hinted at a hard drive replacement, courier should be here Monday to pick it up.
