Its a bit like seatbelts now. Motorbike helmet, bike helmet, automatic.

I'm always bemused by the number of people who weren't wearing a seatbelt killed or worse in car accidents.  Like you, the belt goes on as automatically as the door gets closed.  (I nearly wrote "as the key goes in" and figured there would be a furore from the keyless entry mob :grin)
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

 :like

First off, the lovely people at licencing department in Sai Gon gave me a 'life time' licence for any engine sized motorbike of any sort, ( cost me US$20 )
plus an open car licence to be allowed to drive any car with up to nine passenger seats, something tourists don't get !!!      ;-*

THEN, my 'new' BETTER HALF' banned me from riding ! Said it was too dangerous & I was getting too old !  :cuss

NEXT, after returning to Oz for a bit of minor surgery, my upstart daughter, from first marriage/mistake also said I was too old as well !!!    :OldMan

I'm only 72 now and the doctors say I'm fine to keep riding - despite prostrate removal & ongoing stomach cancer as well a one very mild stroke !!!     :runyay

BLOODY CHEEKY YOUNGER GENERATIONS !!!!    :angry-old-man-smiley-emoticon
