What Wouldn't You Do ....
« on: May 24, 2024, 08:20:05 AM »
.... if you won Tattslotto/Powerball, etc.?

We've probably all had the discussion about what we would do, but this is about what you wouldn't you do.  Discussion on this latter question was held amongst some work colleagues about 30 years back.  Most responses were based on it depends on how much was the win.  Most answers seemed to be that people would not buy certain items, take trips, etc.  The surprise came from Leanne, the office manager, who was quite adamant, I wouldn't tell my husband,

I wonder if they're still together.

In the TV series "At Home With The Braithwaites" the mother/wife didn't tell the children  or husband with interesting results.

For me that would depend, if it was last night's $150M, I think I'd buy each, and then may be even a hers and a his EV.

Of course then I'd need a bigger garage, and a bigger house, or perhaps I could store vehicles at the summer house.  And I'd still have plenty left to fritter away on really, really useless stuff, outta my share.

If I had won on Thursday night:-
This would be my go to the shop bike on a sunny day
https://www.bikesales.com.au/bikes/details/2018-harley-davidson-iron-883-xl883n/OAG-AD-22438300/?Cr=5

and this would be my go to the shop car on a wet day
https://www.fiat.com.au/abarth/500e.html

all this would have been after I purchased the house for sale next to me:-
https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-wa-willetton-144988032
what the ad doesn't tell you is that there are two free standing garages in the back yard and the double garage under the house is two cars deep.
So the Fiat and Harley will fit in happily leaving space for a new Nissan GTR.

So you're not gonna do a "Leanne" then?  :whistle

I don't really need a bigger house, but I would definitely need a bigger garage for the Goldwing, the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, the ST, a couple of classic motorcycles and a couple of new cars. And then I'm guessing Sue might want something as well... >:()

I don't really need a bigger house,

Neither do I the house, above house would be rented out to uni students as we have good public transport to universities. I just want the garage space.  :grin

I certainly would not want to do Leanne or wish anything similar, even on my enemies.

Since "downsizing" I do miss the old, very large garage.  I think WAG has a good idea.

So if you won you'd tell her husband?  I think that's what you're trying to say.  :Stirpot
