Well this little black duck is no longer a FarRiders virgin with a shiny new FR10 under the belt  :hatwave. You just cant beat a good  :slvr13 It was a great weekend of riding, in all sorts of weather with some great friends, as usual, and a nice array of food prepared by PitSTop  :beer :eat :eat :beer a certain couple of young fellas and ladies ended up in food comas  :grin
Cheers

Home 6:45 pm yesterday after departing at 4:00am.  2511 kays for the trip.
It was a great weekend, except for my decision to have a look at the Tenterfield to Woodenbong Mt Lindsay "Highway" for a change from the boring Newell.  I did it in 1974 and it was desperately bad then.  I knew it had been sealed- except for about 4 kays before the Stanthorpe turn-off and 10 kays further on.  I can do a bit of dirt, but this was corrugated about 3" deep and 8" pitch, so it shook the stuffing out of the bike.  I've got a few things to fix.
I'd read how bad the Legume to Urbenville section was, and now know firsthand.
The clincher came on the Beaudesert road traffic lights.  Some are in the 80 kph zone and I thought I had time on the long amber, but got a flash in the mirrors, so apparently I timed it badly.   :fp

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

It was a good ride. Pity I had to dash off to the Tungemah RTE early but it was worth it.  I saw most people for longer later on anyway, just a bit further North.
