Greetings all,  unfortunately I wont be able to make the 5 Dec RTE due to a change of plans,  I leave that morning for a quick trip to QLD.  Will work on the January trip :)

I was there a week ago,  it is pretty quiet,  but as Bodo says still a nice little town. I won't make it even though it's sort of in my patch because ironically I'll need to be in Adelaide that weekend.  I remember the Kadina rte  a year or two ago,  it was a good outing but a scorcher. I hope the weather is good for you all and that this virus outbreak does not prevent it.

For anyone who is on the way via Port Wakefield, I plan on being at Pope's Cafe (west side of the road opposite the Shell Servo) at around 1030 hrs for a cuppa.

I've been given a leave pass to stay over, catch the ferry on Sunday to Lucky Bay and return Monday. I haven't decided yet (about the ferry trip) as I had a tear in the retina in my right eye spot welded on Monday. All seems good and the Doc said I probably shouldn't ride for 3 days so by Saturday all should be good.

A weeks ago I looked at accommodation in Edithburgh but everywhere was fully booked for saturday.  The weather forecast last night said rain so it'll be a day trip for me.

Due to the wet and windy weather forecast, I've cancelled my tent site and booked an en-suite budget cabin, which seemed like a sensible thing to do.

We're in the Caravan Park, in our "rustic" cabin, the only accommodation they have that accepts pets.

Hence another no ST RTE for me.

Came down the Kulpara to Maitland road. Word of warning, it's like a rollercoaster.

Contacted the BOM, 100% rain and thunder from Adelaide to Port Victoria and likely back,  so given I have brand new tyres not even run in and potential slippery roads I will not be heading over to the RTE tomorrow.  Apologies team but I thought the weather would clear up.

Thanks Chris.   For Saturday, Pt Wakefield is currently showing, 22 degrees max, windy,  and 90% chance of 1-5mm.  I'm still "in" at this stage.

Unfortunately I too am a late apology. Last night I'd arranged for a mates shack at Point Turton with the plan of leaving today with the lovely weather and after the RTE tomorrow, head home.  This morning I packed and at 2:00pm I left.  4.5 km later I decided our SA roads are too rough for someone who had laser surgery for retina tears on Monday and turned and headed home. No point risking my eyesight and I'm seriously disappointed, but, there is always another day. Bon appetit courageux cavaliers.

Probably a wise call, as risking your eyesight for the sake of a ride and lunch may be a choice you'd regret.

It came on quite windy after Bodø and STinky Pete left.

There is a crab net out there still off the shoreline rocks, the conditions not good enough to try and retrieve it.

Did get a good feed of garfish though.
