Driving lights wiring - Pros and cons for different wiring setup

(1/1)

DaleAP:
I'm about to fit driving lights, and was trying to work out the best method to wire them up. At this stage I've been considering these options...

* Wire them straight from the battery with their own separate switch
* Wire them from the battery but use the high beam switch
* Use a piggyback setup from the main headlight globes.

What do you lot see as the pros and cons for these options?

Brock:
The only legal way is to use a piggy back {on the headlight to pick up hi beam} to a switch and relay. Driving lights must be able to be turned off, and only work with hi beam. Power can come from the battery, via a suitable fuse near the battery.

Thanks guys.

I picked up the lights today and they come with all of the cabling, harnesses, relay, piggybacks, etc so now it's just a matter of fitting it all. Although the lights were designed with cars/4wd's in mind so the cables are extra long!!  >:() :crazy
