Wiring WTF

Can someone enlighten me on this connector - removed battery and discovered this ? I did not notice it when dismantling battery box ?

I think these may be the earth wires, that are supposed to go under the on the rail under the seat. I cant be more specific, as I am about 8000Ks away from the bike. some one will be along shortly with a pic to show where they go.

Its the earth as brock said. Look for a bare metal ring around a bolt hole in reach with the wire.  Guessing you have lost bolt. 6 or 8 mm

Thanks Pault - it must have been originally located between the folding grab handle bracket & frame
Not ideal so I found a diff location
