I renewed my driving licence online today instead of going to the local post office because a new photo isn't needed for the next seven years.

The old one expires at midnight so cutting it fine. I went to the license section of our Transport SA website and entered the required details and their computer system tells me my licence had already expired which wasn't a big deal at the time.

Proceeded with the transaction and on the printed temporary licence the date starts from the 11th essentially confirming the old licence is still valid today.

Heather's cat and I had a wonderful tolerant relationship until a few years ago when Heather broke her leg (tibia & fibia) and had to stay in hospital.

Regarding your threats to severely downgrade my pictures to ‘blurred’ or ‘watermarked’ until I pay your ransom to have them left alone...
I have copied and pasted the dictionary meaning of “ethical” forthwith to see if you might catch on...
adjective. pertaining to or dealing with morals or the principles of morality; pertaining to right and wrong in conduct. being in accordance with the rules or standards for right conduct or practice.

It would seem you have lured all of us on here under the premise of free image hosting and are closing the trap that you have set now that we are all committed and entrenched and have chewed and swallowed your ‘bait’.

And now you send me (the same person you welcomed with open arms in the beginning), threatening emails giving myself, all my Blog readers, and everyone else who has enjoyed your service in the past, such an ultimatum that should I not pay your ransom, you will actively attack and sabotage my content thereby rendering it fairly useless and affecting the readers’ enjoyment in a very negative way – such that they may unsubscribe or worse – leave detrimental comments on social media about their experience with my blogs.

If I told YOU to ‘pay up or else!’ you’d commission the relevant authorities to negate my threat and bring me to justice.

What’s your take on this situation where you have such a poor business model that you have turned on your supporters?

Yes- Photobucket should have a "grandfather" provision that photos hosted under the free conditions continue to do so, and those uploaded above the limit be blurred if the fee isn't paid.  US$7 per month doesn't sound much, but it's AU$123.96 pa, which is a fair bit to pay to see some photos.
I hope imghostr don't go down the same road.  If they decide to charge, they should abide by their own terms regarding free access.

I turned my back on photobucket two years ago when they first started demanding payment to use their service.
I had been a registered user since they first opened 14 years ago in 2003.

When they started limiting access to third party hosting and demanding payment, I deleted most of the stuff in there and closed my account.
They even sent me a query as to why I no longer use their services?.

I now use imgbb.com which is a free service to all.

The site that a handful of images on does not allow me to edit a post I've made from an hour after it was posted.
 
If it wasn't for that issue I would have used another another site and closed this account long ago.

I had the same message as Diesel so I responded in kind.

I went to Flickr and moved most of my stuff over there until Yahoo sold that off but the new owners at least kept free third party hosting for for 250 photos.

So now I'm with imgHOSTR

I haven't visited Photobucket since the outrage, but just went to see whatsup and got this message:
"If you don't upgrade and continue to exceed your current tier limit, you will not be able to add photos to your account and must either delete or download images to meet your current tier limit."
They still offer 25mb for free.

So it would appear they have backed down a bit and don't blur existing pix- I just can't add any.  That suits me, as I don't have Alan's patience to repost scores of photos from a new host.  I just checked a post from 2011 (2 STs ago) and the pic isn't blurred, so it's working for me.

Good points gents. I won't be chasing all my pics either if they sabotage, but they've received my email and are deliberating it right now. I'll let you know if I get a reprieve as a vocal minority or not.
