Pretty sure I will be required to work. Its a major rail closure that weekend and we supply the buses that replace the trains on this particular line.

Haha.  Just arrived to find nobody here.  Being 1 week early might have something to do with it.  Silly Steve.

I can confirm that the hotel is still there.

Didn’t get to sample the menu because lunch isn’t till 12:00 and we couldn’t wait. So we visited the cafe which, while it looks a bit plain by city standards, dished up some very good food.

Hi, has anyone done the trip from Blackbutt to Crows Nest via the Blackbutt Crows Nest Rd, Nukku Rd, Mt Binga Rd, Blackbutt Range Rd through to Crows Nest?   I think there is some dirt sections. But doesn't look like too much.
Was thinking of going over Mt Mee then through Kilcoy on to Blackbutt and then Crows Nest in the morning and then back down through to Esk and over Mt Glorious in the afternoon on the way home.

No I haven't, but it's only 10 minutes longer to go Yarraman, Cooyar, Crows Nest. A few extra k's but all good roads and a nice ride.

Sorry we won’t be there. I was looking forward to making the trip a second time without needing the GPS. I went to the doc with a sore gut yesterday and he suspects a hernia, so I don’t want to venture too far from home until I can get it checked out and sorted.

Sorry to hear that Steve
Belly button or groin, I had a hernia of the belly button just before my ride to Adelaide
Had it fixed 6 months later

Thanks Leo.

Near the belly button.

I’ve already got a deformed belly button as a result of major bowel surgery in ‘17. Doc says that sort of thing makes you susceptible to hernias in that region.  The pain level has retreated to a manageable level but until I get it looked at on Tuesday I’m avoiding doing anything that might aggravate it and land me in ER, which pretty much rules out anything useful I might have done this weekend. Sorry dear, I can’t mow the lawn this weekend  :beer

Sorry to hear that Steve. I had an umbilical hernia fixed years ago.

I'm also unable to make it because of Granddaughter swimming lessons.

I had a hernia and I put up with it for years...It was only when it popped out and I couldn't massage it back in and I was in excruciating pain that I finally went to the doctor.
Thankfully he was able to get it back in otherwise I was going to be carted off to Emergency!

Saw the specialist a few weeks later and he scared the crap out of me telling me how dangerous it was (as in life-threatening) to leave.
2 weeks later I was operated on and I haven't had an issue with it since... :thumbs

Great day and ride on the Spyder
Only a half hour ride for me and the first time I have taken my Spyder to a RTE
Good to catch up with all, we had 11 all up
Great lunch
Good to see David and Lane bring friends on a Triumph Trophy and Bruce a new member from Kingsthorpe managed to come along on his nicely painted ST1100
Thanks to Shiney and Gadget for organising the ride

Carrol and I left at 0800 and met up with Draco & Ros shortly after.
We headed up the highway towards Toowoomba following the GPS.
Before reaching the Toowoomba range the GPS sent us off along a side street.

We travelled through some nice countryside I hadn't been through before but then found ourselves on a dirt road :eek

For the first couple of ks it was okay but then it became corrugated which gave the suspension (and us) a fair workout >:()

:blu13  Thanks for organising Shiney and Gadget. Great location, great people and a good feed.
Hope you get better soon Steve!
I wanted to make a day of it so took the Mt Mee, Woodford, Kilcoy, Blackbutt, Yarraman, Coyar, way to Crows Nest for lunch with the gang. Meet up with everyone and some new faces, even though I'm relatively new as well to this forum / club.
Idea was to make a the ride a big circle back to home base. So from Crows Nest took the B Road route on Perseverance Dam Road which a pretty decent stretch of windy road leading over the Dam and then on to Esk Hampton Road which is another great road leading down the ranges to the back of Esk. Not much traffic either. So a great ride to Esk.
From Esk taking Esk Kilcoy Road to go north of Wivenhoe Dam and then back around to the back of Mt Glorious where I stopped for a Coffee break at Red Cedar (nice quiet spot for a break ). I hear a familiar sound of another ST coming down the drive and meet up with a new Forum member 'Aussie Aperation' taking his newly acquired 2017 ST on its Maiden Mt Glorious run. He couldn't help but notice my unique colour combination wrap on my bike when he rode past and needed to investigate.
AA has acquired a new 2017 Police ST fresh out of the crate from surplus QLD Police duties 0klm's on the clock and all. Nice shiney white bike ready for adventure. Good to meet you AA, welcome to OZStoc. Hope to see you next RTE hopefully.
So on with my ride, back over Glorious and back home and no rain in sight. Excellent ride, great day out.
Thanks all!  :blu13left
