Spark Plug Wiring order
« on: September 10, 2017, 07:29:18 PM »
Ok Question.
Does it matter what plug lead i put to the spark plug.
Now from my years of playing with cars, this is very important, HOWEVER, i just discovered that my 2006 ST1300 had Lead #1 going to cylinder #3 and Lead #3 going to cylinder #1.
I swapped the around ........... and it runs just the same (It runs fine)
HOW IS THIS ?

There are two coil packs, one feeds one pair of cylinders and the other feeds the other pair. Each pair "Fires" at the same time, but only the cylinder on the compression stroke charged with fuel will fire. So if the wires for each pair are swapped then there is no problem.
