..and the rain is still coming down... 14 mm since 3am
has swung around and now coming from the southwest, so temp has dropped quite a bit. Now 13 outside after 28 yesterday

Good thing that the ST is such a dry bike to travel on, especially with the taller screen

A friend just dropped in, garbling something about football, and this player and that player, yada yada yada....

Waste of my time, but I politely listened....

My total knowledge of the sport is restricted to:~

1) There's an Adelaide team called the Crows.
2) Collingwood are called Magpies?
3) Some other team is called the Tigers.
4) Geelong has its Cats.
5) There's a Perth team too, but I don't know their name.

I've attended a total of 2 AFL games in my life. I was lucky enough to accompany a young man and his family on a Make A Wish trip. Being a Tiwi Islander, with their passion for footy, he wanted a footy weekend in Melbourne. We got to go to the Anzac Day match between Collingwood and Essendon at the MCG. More people in the crowd than the entire population of Darwin, certainly an eye opener!
Next evening we went to the then Telstra Dome to watch Western Bulldogs and West Coast Eagles, including a visit to the change rooms before the game.

Other than that one weekend 8 years ago, I've managed to totally avoid the game....

I was prepared to have a weekend of solitude as usual, but a local Family with 3 young boys (5,3 and 14 months old) have invited me to their home to share a meal on Sunday.

May you all have a Happy Easter with family and friends, and safe travelling if you are on the roads.
