Title: Sea Martin MkII Fishing Reel
Post by: StinkyPete on February 15, 2018, 11:52:08 AM
Here's your chance to get a rare SeaMartin MkII fishing reel which is in excellent condition.   These reels have gained a bit of a cult following among beach and rock fisherman.   They have the casting ability of a sidecaster, with the ease of retrieve of a spinning reel.   The criss cross pattern of the lay of the line stops the line from binding on the reel and adds to the long casting ability.   The last photo shows that the critical retrieve hook has no corrosion.   This reel is currently loaded with 20lb nylon.   A search of ebay will show some cheapies for under $100 which are covered in corrosion, and one for nearly $300.   I'm asking just $150 plus postage.

I'm selling as I've bought a beautiful big Shimano Baitrunner LC reel to go with my new Samaki Zing carbon surf rod.  (Don't tell Chris or she might need a new sewing machine of equal value)

I'm looking for subtitles. I have no idea what you said here Pete.  :grin  I was never bitten by the fishing bug. My old man was a tragic, and I have 2 brothers AND a brother-in-law that would sooner go fishing than.... :eek, go riding. Not this little black duck. I would rather go for a ride  :blu13  and use silver bait and enjoy a good meal of fish and chips.  :eat

Yep that is a reel of beauty.... Would look great on my grandfathers 14' Split cane beach rod. Then I really would need Pockey to help me carry the combo.

Bump.   I'll drop the price to $100 plus postage.   This is a bargain for a collectible reel, and if it doesn't move here, I'll consign it at a local tackle shop.

Nah- put it on eBay at $290.  It's worth it to anyone who appreciates fine reels.  I like Gumtree also, still free to advertise and they don't charge commission.  It has quite a good following.
