My mate Andrew went away on 6 Months tripping around Australia with his young family in his 4x4 and caravan
He gave me the keys to his Suzuki GSX650F bad news for him
Today was a day off so I headed over to his place at 7.30 and grabbed the bike and headed down to Esk Bakery for coffee
Well a bit different to the ST1300, It has been a long time since I have ridden such a light bike a real pocket rocket.
A bit more tucked up on the higher foot pegs than theST1300 but overall not that uncomfortable
First thing I noticed was the extra wind noise as I think I am spoilt behind my California Scientific Windscreen
http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/ST1300_d.html#Windshield So I pulled up and put ear plug in which I usually don't wear because of my screen
More than enough power and a pleasure to ride, I'm sure as I get older 10-20 years time when the ST1300 final wears out
But probably me first
, I would not hesitate to jump on one of these
Anyway it was great through the twisties, gee I could do that again
I parked out the front and went in an ordered a Flat White. (Great staff at Esk Bakery) and sat outside and had a chat with a local that used to ride bikes but because of a heart attack can't ride anymore, he had some great stories about the bikes he still owns
After Coffee I saddled up and headed back up to Hampton then on to Toowoomba. Did I tell you I like this ride
My wife Robyn always asks where I am going "ESK" I say, Not there again. But I always love the ride "Never Boring"
Well it even goes better up hill better than coming down
When I got back to Toowoomba I dropped into ALDI and a fellow came over and spoke to me about the bike he thought it was
the 1250 bandit, But I said no it is the 650 baby bandit, he was impressed
I said I got a Honda ST1300, He said he was looking at them as a tourer, well I told him how good they are
He said he spoke to Chris 'ST2UP' a few months ago at Wilsonton Hotel in Toowoomba
And he said he is going to come to our National rally in Toowoomba in March 2015
