version two-ST1300
« on: September 21, 2020, 09:02:57 AM »
Hi and thankyou, I have recently bought a 1990 st1100, 265000Klms, but in very good condition and a lot of bike for the money.

I have been riding road bikes for over 30 yrs, everything from a 250cc can am to Harleys. I have recently sold a triumph speedmaster, and back onto a st1100 ( had one in 1990 new)

Hi Steve, welcome to OzSTOC and back to an ST.
I am in Willetton, whereabouts in Perth do you live?
WA are having a RTE (ride to eat) on 24th October, see here    http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=14073.new#new
We generally don't ride in a group but turn up individually for a RTE. Eat, talk bikes and head home.

So after riding the 1100 for the last 6 weeks, im in love. So much so I decided to upgrade  today I bought a st1300 aswell. 2002 model with 73000klms.

Originally I thought it was going to be for the occasional ride, but I really have been enjoying it so I wanted something that will be a very long term bike.

Mate!  You've caught a serious case of ST-itis!  Congrats on having one of each.  There's no doubt in my mind they are different bikes, both with great character and capability.  I had an ex-Police 2000 ST1100 and have my fourth ST1300.  I guess you could say I'm infected also.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
