Post by: West Aussie Glen on December 29, 2018, 07:47:29 PM
After residing in Victor Harbor for several years my first Goldwing has returned home to be sold.

Glen, still looking good. People may want a few extra details, or is this a very reluctant sale?

I just wanted to get it out there. Besides being lazy I figured that anybody who is interested in a GL1500 probably has a good idea about them, a picture is worth a thousand words and a phone call will answer all their questions.

It is not a reluctant sale as my mate from Victor actually purchased it from me but had a problem when he went to change the rego in SA so we just left it registered in WA and I used it on occasions. Steve now has a lovely Indian and when he decided to sell the Wing the opportunity arose for him to ride it across the the paddock which he did with me on my way home from MacKay. Unfortunately it did a fork seal on the way across and Yorkie picked up on the steering head bearings needing replacing. So I only completed those repairs plus another couple of tidy up jobs lunchtime today and it is now ready for sale.

If I had the space and did not have to pay the rego I wouldn't mind keeping it as this is the bike I purchased to ride around Australia and in doing so became a Goldwing convert. I did about 28,000 kms on it and replacing it with a very low km 1999 SE GL1500 which I did 21,700 on before replacing it with my GL1800 on which I have now done 54,000kms. So in a little over 6 1/2 years I have done 104,000 kms on wings but only 25,000 kms on my 08 ST since buying it new 10 years ago.

There is an MC CC and a Honda stereo in the shed waiting to be fitted to the ST along with a planned Daylong seat after which my ST kms may start to catch my wing kms.
